    Despite its natural beauty, Ontario for a long time was a residential community for workers in nearby Los Angeles. Highlighted by its explosive energy, Ontario is still only 35 miles east of the Sin City, but has already developed an identity of its own. From the vast array of museums and galleries to extensive shopping and world-class dining choices, Ontario still hides from travelers under a reputation of being small and grimy. Unfairly eliminated from the usual travel list, it’s a reputation you can take advantage of - Ontario features lower prices and short lines to your favorite attractions.

Attractions include;

- Museum of History and Art traces local history and art with interesting displays on the theme

Chino Town Square, a vibrant place lined with cafes and restaurants to relax with city-natives

Ontario Mills Mall, a local market with souvenirs and handicrafts to buy

The Granada Theater, designed by noted architect L A Smith

Ontario was originally sustained through farming with only several shops and schools in the area. The city owes a lot to brothers George and William Chaffey who brought irrigation to make the land more profitable. Since the system brought water to crops, agriculture made up the lion's share of the region’s income.

     Ontario became a city in 1891 and began to grow. During wartime it served as a training spot for pilots with Ontario International Airport in the area. The city is currently based on the service industries and agriculture with population swelled from 20,000 residents in the 1960s to 158,000 people today.

     Even though the city is not very popular with tourism, it is more and more seeing a foreign presence. The city is a perfect place to play a few rounds of golf at the Whispering Lakes Golf Course or indulge in live music or karaoke in popular Jazz cafe. For exclusive experiences take a tour of the Graber Olive House with a lovely ranch for strolling and olive processing on display.

As you are in Ontario, you should benefit the fact it is close to nearby Los Angeles. In 10 minutes drive you can change scene from quiet community in Ontario to pulsating nightlife and gambling in La-la land. On a visit to Ontario you are not going to miss its small town feel and warm welcome in local hotels. Booked.net can place you in any hotel in Ontario with a few clicks.
