During the World War II it was heavily damaged, then rebuilt and now it’s the most important port on the German Baltic and industrial city with its shipbuilding and fish-processing branches.

     There are some places you should see for yourself in Rostock. Find a small historic district with red-brick edifices built during Hanseatic times. Visit stunning seaside resort Warnemünde. It’s not only famous for its beauty, Warnemünde is also the center of town’s festivals: regatta week in July and Hanse Sail in August. Visit Warnemünde in summer and enjoy marvelous picture of the sea and Northern Rostock from the high tower of the old lighthouse.
