Really enjoyed our good-sized room on lower level and the historic-style building. The location was amazing and fantastic, for example, a street market was around 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel.

Mary
It was a historic building, the room was good-sized on lower level. Fantastic and gorgeous location, not very far from a Neo-Renaissance theatre, really enjoyed it.

Historic building and rooms with beautiful decoration. Large and excellent breakfasts with a champagne and delicious food as well as eggs dishes and omelet. Gorgeous and good location to a Dutch national museum.

The hotel is conveniently located right on the Amstel River, allowing for beautiful views from the rooms and a pleasant atmosphere. It is also situated close to the attractions in central Amsterdam, making it easy to explore the city. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with large bathrooms that have both a tub and a separate shower. The staff provides excellent service, ensuring a pleasant stay for guests. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of delicious options, and the hotel also has nice bars with friendly bartenders, perfect for relaxing with a drink.
There were a few instances where the service was overly attentive and interruptive, which could be bothersome during conversations or moments of relaxation.

The mints in the hotel restaurant were nice. The Internet service, although pretty expensive was decently fast.
I didn't like the location of the hotel, it is not convenient for anything. Prepare to pay a taxi fare of at least 15 Euros to go anywhere notable. The hotel is old and musty. The service was almost non-existent. It's not a cheap hotel.

My husband and I loved staying at the Intercontinental Amstel. The staff was lovely, and the room both charming and comfortable. We had a great dinner at a window-side table in the Brasserie, watching the evening boat traffic on the Amstel River. This is the 4th Amsterdam hotel we've tried, and the only one we look forward to coming back to.
Welcoming, professional lobby staff Beautiful, spacious room Gorgeous location right on the Amstel River, in a nice neighborhood that has cafes and shops Lovely restaurant and terrace overlooking the river
I didn't love the hair dryer

I had a wonderful experience at Intercontinental. The historical building has a charming atmosphere and stylish decor. My room was incredibly spacious and comfortable, with a fantastic view overlooking the river. I highly recommend choosing a river view room, as it is definitely worth it. The hotel also offers several excellent restaurants with terraces that also overlook the river. The health club is great, complete with a normal-sized swimming pool where you can actually swim. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were fast and efficient.
Absolutely nothing to say about dislikes. 😊
