It's convenient localized if you want to visit Porto and don't pay too much. The heating worked good. Room was clean, but looked like cleaned long time ago.
The hotel is located in the proximity of the railway so that it is noisy.

Very nice hotel manager. Good position for reaching easily Porto (by train, station is 800m away, beach is 200m). Just a minor hint: the map position is not exact, it is 150m south wards, enter the parking lot at the yellow building.

Access to the beach was great. also good restaurant next door. staff very helpful and friendly.
Being next to a regularly used railway line and quite a busy road were negatives. but for 1 night not a problem.

The guy (who possibly might have been the owner I feel) was very friendly and helpful, as someone who is not fluent but who can converse in Portuguese I normally find hotel staff that can speak English will not talk to me in Portuguese which at times I can find a bit deflating, but this guy was willing to communicate totally with me in Portuguese which I appreciated. Also the price of the hotel was very reasonable
I stayed in the hotel primarily because it was near the Casino in Espinho in which I had planned to play poker, so I was quite horrified when after I had already paid (on arrival!) for my stay there he informs me that I have to be back in the hotel by 12 p.m. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to get in - that hasn't happened to me in a long time - also this wasn't made clear on the info on the hotel. I ended up moving to another hotel later that weekend because of this. Also the bed was very hard and uncomfortable and also really short - at 5'101/2 I'm not so tall but even my feet were hanging over the end of the bed.

Friendly staff, very clean, excellent value for money. Easy to access from Porto. Aguda doesn't really have anything there except a couple of shops and cafes but there's a lovely boardwalk walk along the beach (about 3.5km) to Espinho which is a bit more lively. We had a great time!
It is very close to the trainline and you really do notice it, it didn't really bother us at all but if you're more sensitive to noise it might be a problem.
