  A free bus into Funchal and good cheap bar/cafe on beach. All the rooms have superb sea views from a decent sized balcony, pestana Atlantic Bay Hotel is comfortable,clean and friendly, the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and attentive. Apartments are clean and spacious and very well maintained and appointed.

  Food choice is poor and the pool table is very worn and unlevel.

  The free bus into Funchal always had seats, the beach was also very clean and the rooms were cleaned daily and most have the benefit of a sea view. Our stay was excellent, the staff were efficient and the balcony was a good size and had the usual plastic table and two chairs. A jacuzzi spa alongside was fabulous and the restaurant was a big let down.

  The beluga boat trip was very good too for all ages, drinks were served in Glass except for the pool area and in proper measures, the Hotel Staff were very friendly and most helpful. The room was fine, the food was well cooked and plentiful, dinner was just as exciting.

  The beach is large pebbles and rooms are big and comfortable, sea view is lovely. The hotel is well managed, the staff are courteous and friendly, the cable car is a must and coming down in the toboggan good fun. The pool was very clean and there is a gym and sauna.

  Pestana bay is very worthy of 4 stars and we shall be returning, view and beach access are excellent, the quality of the food on this is superb. The staff are friendly helpful, the bedrooms are large.

  The sea is not really suitable for a swim, too many large stones and the location, view and beach access are excellent. Hotel courtesy bus, taxis hire car all readily available, the staff are extremely friendly and very helpful, the rooms are spacious and homely. The salads are very good.

  Restaurant is nicely situated right alongside the sea and food at the hotel is of good quality and the service is efficient and friendly. The rooms are very clean and the staff is really helpful the breakfast was great too.

  The rooms are spacious and all except the bottom floor have excellent views of the sea, i simply loved the hotel and the location is very quiet, beds are well sized and comfy. The staff at the bar are very friendly.

  A very peaceful place and service good. Bed linen very clean and hot food was well cooked, served hot and the plates were mostly hot too. Dinner was great, the pool was cleaned regularly and has an attendant on hand.

  The stuff very friendly, good service and rooms having the small kitchen and balcony. The local drinks were fine and you can help yourself to tea and coffee.

  The lounge area was limited and there was a sense of overcrowding post dinner, salad options were not to my liking, and again not too much choice.

  Very friendly hotel and the staff were all fluent in English and very helpful and courteous. Hot water was constant, the food was good and the choice of drinks at the bar was great.

  Wonderful stay, very friendly staff and laundry excellent beds changed every other day. Good selection at breakfast, huge choice and a beautiful pool.
