The room was small and dirty and dark and needed updating. Nothing like the photos on the website. The bathroom was tiny. We had to pay a compulsory 50 euro surcharge for the week to cover, supposedly, the entertainment, use of the pool and transfers to and from the port. The cost of this is not mentioned at the time of booking and it is misleading, also the pool area was shabby and unattractive so we did not use the pool. There was advertised in the hotel a sauna and hot tub but these were 'closed'. The breakfast is appalling, a few stale croissants, cheese ham and if you are lucky some bread. You have to walk ten minutes to get to the pool/restaurant/bar etc from the hotel. Also, you cannot use real money in the bar, they only take 'fish' money, which are tokens (50 cents each). Completely unecessary. The hotel is far from the town/port area and if you don't have your own transport you have to arrange for a transfer for 3 euros each for a return and you have to be picked up by 10pm at the latest. To be fair we did not have dinner at the hotel but we judged it best to avoid it, so I cannot comment on the food at dinner or lunchtime. The whole place needs drastic renovation, it looks like it is stuck in the 70s. On the whole, although this hotel is relatively cheap, there are hidden costs everywhere you turn so I do not feel it is good value, and the staff were not inclined to help us feel comfortable and relaxed. We felt mislead, the experience was stressful and uncomfortable and nearly ruined our holiday.
