This stunning medieval monastery is 10,000 feet above sea level and has hallways filled with art and antiques. Some felt that it was surprisingly luxurious, but others felt that the rooms were too bare and reminiscent of jail cells. The food is nothing special. Guests can pay extra money to have oxygen pumped into the rooms at night, if the altitude is too much.

Hotel Monasterio Cusco is located within walking distance from all the major sites in the city of Cusco.

The hotel’s building dates back to the 16th century as it is set in the buildings of a former ancient monastery. It is designed in a unique and very traditional style.

The hotel’s 126 rooms are stylishly designed and furnished with all modern amenities and range from deluxe king room, junior suite king, presidential suite and royal suite. There are some special oxygen enriched rooms in the hotel.

The hotel has a number of restaurants: Emiliano serves contemporary Italian cuisine and a selection of fine wine and champagne. Illariy Restaurant serves Peruvian and International cuisine, delicious snacks and drinks. El Tupay serves homemade bread, eggs, freshly baked pancakes, cereals for buffet breakfasts from 5am till 10am. Besides it serves delicious dinners and various drinks. Lobby Bar serves various drinks and snacks.

The hotel’s meeting facilities can be used for various needs. The meeting rooms are of various capacities from small to large ones. The restaurants can cater to meetings as well.

            • Hotel is absolutely gorgeous, all of the staff look very happy to be there and free bottled water is there upon arrival.
            • Staff is most helpful, the rooms also lack adequate ventilation you close the windows and the very large breakfast restaurant is well appointed.

              The rooms were very comfortable and clean and the location was excellent, decor was perfect for the historic hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and my suite was quiet and very nice. The coffee was really good, the gardens were full of beautiful flowers.

              In its place was a quiet abode meant for the older tourist, the folks at the front desk were extraorinarily cordial and accommodating, our rooms at La Casona were at least twice as large. The breakfast buffet was included and a was fantastic.
