The spacious room had good sound isolation, and the surrounding landscape was beautiful. The indoor pool, though sometimes crowded, was a big plus. The location was excellent, with great views from the valley rooms. The hotel offered access to a gym, spa, and indoor and outdoor pools. The lobby was comfortable, and there were plenty of spots for car or track enthusiasts. There was also a fantastic museum nearby and a good restaurant. The staff were friendly and attentive.

There was nothing I didnt like.

One of the dining options, Restaurante Marte was 5 mins walk away. They had everything we wanted for our vacation, we enjoyed stuff and facilities. It is not far from the airport. This hotel is an excellant base a city break in Caramulo.

our second stay in caramulo was even better than the first. golden tulip exceeded our expectations. the view from our spacious room was amazing, and the private balcony was a nice touch. the staff were all attentive and the included access to the gym, spa, and pools was a bonus.

Wifi needs improvement.

The hotel is located at a very high point in the Serra do Caramulo, with a wide view of the Serra da Estrela. It is an old hotel, where you can see the imprint of time. The check-in was excellent and we were given the room even before the official timetables. The restaurant is good at a reasonable price.

We were charged twice for the "tocas" or bathing caps (we paid them in cash on the evening of August 9th and they were added to the bill for the stay). The corridors and carpeted rooms are more difficult to clean. At the bottom of the corridors, at the height of the lifts, there was a smell of wood smoke (there is a fireplace on the reception floor), in the corridor on the fourth floor there was a box of assorted biscuits scattered along the wall (I ended up collecting them inside the box myself because in 24 hours the situation was the same). The cracks in the walls reflect the deterioration of the building, which was widely exposed to the rigors of the Caramulo mountain range. The indoor swimming pool also requires renovation (it is in a building annexed to the hotel) because being really big, it has complicated access and aged facilities, where the cleaning does not look at all.

golden tulip exceeded our expectations during a break on our long journey. the view from the valley rooms was superb. the staff were friendly and attentive, and the spa massages added a nice touch to our stay.

Food was overpriced and terrible.

Excellent hotel services, the Spa, outdoor and indoor swimming pools. Great value for money spent. Located on a beautiful village, with nice restaurants nearby, Caramulo museum in front of the hotel. If you want really to relax, away from crowded summer places, this is definitely a place to go and I'll return.

For our stay, nothing.

The hotel was spacious set in nice surroundings and the staff helpfull, it was nice to have the pool as we had young children with us.

The location, view, and rooms were amazing. Superb valley view, spacious rooms with balcony, and charming old-style building. The outdoor pool was clean and staff were lovely. Great options for gym, spa, and indoor/outdoor pool. Good restaurant and museum nearby. Attentive and friendly staff.

Nothing I didn't like to be fair.

I liked the facilities like swimming pool, gym, sauna, etc. The restaurant is fabulous and recommended.

We enjoyed the quietness and the indoor swimming pool. Almost all the staff is nice and helpful. The Museum in front of the Hotel is excellent. We had a very nice dinner at the Restaurant Montanha.

Cleanliness. The hotel does not have the necessary conditions for accessibility of wheelchairs or baby carriages to all areas, especially in the access to indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

The views from the balcony were breathtaking, and the location was perfect for trekking. The breakfast was good, and the staff was friendly and helpful.
