Crowne Plaza Hotel Amsterdam City Centre - Amesterdão

Located a short walk from the Central Rail Station, location is great and we decided to spend a little more on the hotel room this trip.

Although the location is great, close to shopping and train station, this is definitely not a 4 star hotel.

Good location, very close to the shops and lots of bars.

The train from the airport is very straight forward to use and is a lot cheaper than getting the shuttle bus or taxi.

Many people recommend trams and river taxis to get about but we went more or less everywhere on foot and nothing was too far away.

Communal areas (lobby, restaurants) pleasant - breakfast good but not cheap (Euros 22 - but helped that children eat free) - ate out for other meals.

The Crowne Plaza was a lovely relaxing hotel with excellent room service, a nice quiet bar and restaurant and a buffet breakfast second to none.

Reception is on the ground floor along with Concierge, some meeting rooms, the hotel restaurant, the hotel bar/coffee shop and a small curio shop.

The food was good in the bar and for the breakfasts, although sometimes the 'buffet hot plates' were empty and we had to wait for them to be replenished.

The restaurant wasn't good for families as food was very sophisticated but breakfasts were nice.

The leisure facilites were hardly used by other guests so we had a virtually private pool/gym/sauna most days.

The facility is very nice with pool, fitness, sauna and restaurant.

There is also a sauna and a mini gym which are both great, although a jacuzzi or steam room would have been nice!

Wireless and wired internet is available in all rooms.

The hotel is clean, the buildings are so narrow that 's impossible to fit a huge room and short distance to the down town hustle.

First, the room was clean and bright (OK, the furnishings were a little dated, but not shabby).

The staff was polite and the room was alwas very clean.

The room was large and very clean and had all the usual trimmings you would expect.

Everyone was very friendly and our room was clean and warm!
