Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City

Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall

Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall, formerly known as the Historic Atlantic City Convention Hall, completed in 1929, was once the largest structure of its kind in the world, drawing visitors from across the country. The building served as a popular venue for musical performances in its early days, hosting icons like The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, and Duke Ellington. Boardwalk Hall is also home to the world’s largest pipe organ, the Midmer-Losh organ. With over 33,000 pipes, it’s a masterpiece of musical engineering and remains a popular attraction for visitors. Today, Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall continues to host a wide range of events, including concerts, sporting events, and even the Miss America competition.
