Lincoln University

Lincoln University is a historically black university located in Lincoln, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1854 as Ashmun Institute, and is named after President Abraham Lincoln. It is the United States' first degree-granting historically black university, and one of the oldest institutions of higher education for African Americans. The university has a rich history of educating and empowering black leaders, including notable alumni such as Langston Hughes, Thurgood Marshall, and Amiri Baraka.
