The hotel was conveniently located near the train station, making it easy to get around the city. The area was quiet, which was a nice change from the bustling city center. there was a good Italian restaurant just around the corner, perfect for a quick and delicious meal.
There was no free WiFi available at the hotel. It was surprising and disappointing to discover that we had to pay for internet access by the hour.

Extremely nice staff from reception thru breakfast staff to room cleaning personnel. All made me feel myself welcome. Second best ( having very expensive Jaguar car ) was secure parking.And absolutely best was air conditioning in the room.Very nice breakfast in gthe terrace even with salmon ( lachs).....Nice walk along the river to the city and old town. This was a very nice location, close the train station. The hotel was clean and quiet with a very nice staff. Air conditioning in the rooms was really nice considering the heat of the July summer.

The breakfast at Hotel Scherer was fantastic, with a wide variety of delicious options to choose from. We especially enjoyed the friendly and attentive service from the staff, who went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The location of the hotel was also convenient, allowing us to easily explore the city and access public transportation. The cleanliness of the hotel was top-notch, and we appreciated the welcome gift of fruits and chocolates. Despite the smaller room size, we found it to be comfortable and well-maintained. I highly recommend this hotel for a pleasant and enjoyable stay.

okay buffet breakfast, but (because nice weather) able to eat in on a pleasant outside terrace. Hotel bar price for 0.25l red wine was good. Hotel has a reasonably good location about 10 mins level walk to edge on city centre, and about another 10mins level walk to edge of historic city centre. Free off road parking included.
