For a dose of true Cleveland you should visit its green suburbia, but if you are more interested in cultural happenings than what happens in suburbia head for the city center. The most vibrant soundtracks of 1940s still gather audiences in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, while America's largest performing center the Playhouse Square Center Theater District hosts the best Broadway shows and rock concerts.

Cleveland earned its name after Moses Cleaveland, a surveyor who established the town in 1796. The city stayed small till the Ohio and Erie Canal arrived in 1832. It was after an "a" was dropped by accident in the local newspaper that Cleveland earned its modern name.

Cleveland expanded on manufacturing with the largest steel mills and law firms hosted in the city. For its business achievements Cleveland earned the name of an Intel "Worldwide Digital Community" that brought more than $12 million to diversify regional technologies and business opportunities.

Eventually, Cleveland dropped its rough industrial image toward a chic tourist destination with green parks, pulsating life at night and sporting and cultural events attracting visitors during the day.
