City Guide:

Business mapped Shreveport.

Commonly, new cities launch new industries, but in Shreveport industries built a town. Founded by the Shreve Town Company as a place to sustain intensive building projects in the area, Shreveport has evolved into a bustling city in terms of cultural splendor and laid-back lifestyle.

You should complete a trip to the city to get seduced by it. Be it a room in cheap hotel in Shreveport or a luxury one all are available at Booked.net. Check them out with maps, photos and secure forms at our website.

 Brought to life by building at the Red River and the Texas Trail in 1836, the city of Shreveport greatly suffered from this project as it converted the area of the modern city into a cluster of construction waste. Change came when Captain Henry Miller Shreve cleared the waters of the Red River from debris and since then the city has acquired pretty forms. Consequently, it was incorporated on March 20, 1839.

Today Shreveport thrives on the fortunes of its waterfront location and despite the Red River being off-limits for usage due to polluted waters in 1914, it is back to normal again and Shreveport earns money on shipping. Once introduced to the world as a city with industrial face, Shreveport is world away from heavy business today and instead it is known to the public eye for its historical landmarks.

 Attractions include;

  • American Rose Center, America's largest garden park

  • Norton Art Gallery, a world-class art gallery on Creswell Avenue

  • Robinson Film Center, a showplace for international and classic cinema in downtown

  • Sci-Port, a 92,000 square-foot science facility and it also featured various entertainments

  • Shreveport Municipal Auditorium, a historic auditorium built in 1929

Along with historic places of interest Shreveport is home to a cluster of modern entertainment like casinos, shopping centers and cultural events. The most popular event takes place in the city in October - Red River Revel Arts Festival and lasts for eight days.

But the festival is more of local interest, but hardy a lure for foreign visitors. The last usually flock Shreveport for very different experiences, but this is not a trouble for the city that itself brims with activities for any travel type.

Thus, if you are about something risky and extreme, you should consider gambling in the the large-scale casinos and adventure at the horse racing tracks. Otherwise, you can indulge in calm time and tour art pieces from across the world in the local galleries taking turns with stylish bars to refresh during touring.

From its modern urban sprawl to historic origins, Shreveport can be an unforgettable adventure with Booked.net.
