City Guide:

     Sarasota will lead you into temptation.

     As a draw for tourists from across the world, Sarasota has earned the name of a very outdoorsy city to deluge your senses with more than 1,000 restaurants, offshore boat cruises, polo and sun-baked beaches.

     Teeming with activities, Sarasota has also all opportunities for comfortable stay. Be it a room in cheap hotel in Sarasota to the lap of luxury all available with maps, photos and secure forms at

     Away from entertainment, Sarasota has much to do with the pedigree of its residents. The richest man in America John Ringling has chosen the city to exhibit his private art collection in the Ringling Museum. That means Sarasota has outclassed major European collections of baroque art. Millions of dollars have been invested to set the city apart with America's largest art library. Along with unique art collections Sarasota boasts of the world's best botanical garden Selby Botanical Gardens sitting on a wide bay.

Other attractions include;

- Sarasota Jungle Gardens, full with interesting plants and some animals to enjoy

- Circus Museum, from 1948 houses offers a fine collection of rare handbills, posters and art prints

- The Historic Asolo Theater, a playhouse to honor the 15th century exiled Queen of Cyprus

- Art Center Sarasota, houses rotating art exhibitions with pieces available for sale

- Museum Of Asian Art treasures historical records of cultures and landscapes altered by development and modernization

     But Ringling wasn't the city's only major influence as before his contribution John Hamilton established the first golf course in Sarasota. Since then the city has transformed into magnet for investment by wealthy Americans, as well as a draw for those hungry for land. A large number of Scottish immigrants relocated to the city for its good quality of life. The first swell of visitors came with Ringling's money invested in his mansion on Sarasota Bay, while his collection of works by painter Peter Paul Rubens made the city an art haven.

    The commercial interest to the city was also fueled with construction of the first bridge spanning from the mainland to St Armands Key. This is a place where incredible natural beauty serves for commercial benefit. The city with its sky on fire during the sunsets and natural canvas of green parks, palm trees and dolphins jumping up from the water all are of service to the tourist business.

     Against the impressive natural background sprang up various hotels to stay at in the city. has collected them all for you to book early.
