     Lazy days on beaches with 320 days of total sunshine and doing nothing, but sunbathing and swimming in warm salty waters make Panama City Beach an ideal vacation spot with the most scenic beaches in the world. Tired of basking in the sun? You can experience other aquatic activities like fishing, cruising, diving and snorkeling through to golf, tennis and basketball in Panama City Beach.

     This is a destination for beachgoers that is hard to beat as it fronts the Gulf of Mexico, the city covers an area of 7sqmiles, but it has 27 miles of sugar-white sands dotted with numerous clubs, restaurants and hotels.

     In 1935 the first hotel was built in the area by developer Gideon Thomas stating, "I’m not attempting to grow vegetables here; I’m going to grow people." This is how business, mainly tourism became the source of the city's income and after Gideon Thomas, Panama City Beach never returned to that small village it once was.

     Settled as a community in the 1800s, Panama City Beach was for a long time disturbed by pirates waiting for rich ships traveling from Mexico to Spain. Today the blue waters of the area hide great treasure that sank in battles with pirates.

     Later the city grew to the reputation of second to none destination for loved-up couples who spent nights in the trendy bar ''The Hangout'' in the 1940s. Unfortunately, this hot spot for dancing and drinking was destroyed by Hurricane Eloise in 1975. Since then Panama City Beach became more family-oriented with numerous sights. Attractions include;

- St. Andrews State Park, a wonderful park along the shores of the Gulf of Mexico with variety of stores

- Camp Helen State Park, perfect for hiking, fishing, picnics, boating

-Frank Brown Park, city's main park with soccer fields, baseball/softball fields, walking paths and the newly opened Panama City Beach Aquatic Center
