He didn’t find gold, but he did discover the beautiful landscapes of Sedona. This introduced the area to the world and drew the first permanent residents T.C. Schnebly and his wife. They established a post office in the city and named it as ‘Sedona’ in the 1900s.

      The first business introduced to the area was peaches and apples. Even though the city still boasts the tasty fruit, its business has changed with the interest of film-makers to the area. Today Sedona can outstrip major cities by the quantity of movies shot in the area. Sedona has served as the setting for more than 70 Hollywood movies, gradually becoming a home for rich and famous.
