City Guide:

Hot Springs is an amazing natural phenomenon.

Born from beauty, Hot Springs doesn't need to tart up its face as it has already evolved from an appealing escape appraised for the curative effect of its thermal springs in the area.

As visitors pack the city year round, you should consider advance booking at From a room in cheap to luxury Hot Springs hotels all are available with maps, photos and secure forms at

Hot Springs can claim more than 47 curative springs, but its main highlight is Hot Springs National Park famous for its stunning beauty. Once it charmed President Andrew Jackson and he ranked Hot Springs as the first National Reservation. With time it has evolved into the only American city ever located within a national park.

In fact, Hot Springs National Park covers years of history and is regarded as the country’s oldest park, so traveling to Hot Springs you bump into the very heart of this ''living museum''. This natural wonder was discovered by the Spanish explorer Hernando DeSoto in 1541, but many centuries before Native Americans had already pampered themselves in its warm curative waters.

From its early years people flocked the city to relax and heal. Every day millions gallons of crystal-clear waters flow through the city gradually evaporating as the temperature reaches 140 degF. Due to this Hot Springs seem to be always cloaked in a light translucent mist. Locals say that it converts the process of taking a thermal bath into a spiritual experience.

Away from pampering in the thermal pools, Hot Springs has many recreational opportunities like camping, hiking, and drives in the area or you may hit the city on foot.

Attractions include;

  • Garvan Woodland Gardens, a showplace of the local natural flora and fauna

  • Mid America Science Museum, the largest science center in Arkansas

  • Crystal Falls, a place for exciting water rides

  • Oaklawn Park, a lovely playground to relax and have fun ans enjoy delicious food

  • Bathhouse Row offers a set of historic buildings to indulge in the old-world architecture

While is is now known for its health benefits Hot Springs saw bloody tribal conflicts for ownership of the springs. This trouble occurred before the arrival of Europeans which brought an end to the hostility between the local tribes and Fred Evans incorporated the springs in 1890.

Since then Hot Springs is no longer a centre of discord, but an appealing and relaxing escape. With a hotel at Hot Springs is only a few clicks away.
