Yellowstone Valley Inn

Furniture was very cheap, poor quality, tv was small with very bad reception and sound - unwatchable, curtains were shabby, bed cloths were cheap and thin with no padding, carpet was thin with no padding.

The room had two queen beds and the best part its balcony overlooked the Shoshone River.

For a nice surprise look under the bed the maid obviously doesn't.

We did not have a telephone in our room nor did we have a clock on any kind.

We stayed here a weekend in March 07 in their newly remodeled king suite on the end of the log lodge and we had a wonderful experience.

The proper restaurant is a bit pricey without childrens food - so for that we went to the bar/restaurant.

Which is more of a biker bar, not really a restaurant.

The food is amazing, the employees warm and service oriented, the karoke and bar are fun, and the location is hard to beat.

It would be a great help to YVI if they made a separate little dining area near the bar so that families would feel more comfortable and welcome - but it seemed almost like they were discoraging the whole family with little ones idea.

The price of the hotel room included a cooked breakfast each morning and the food was good.

Worst of all was the attitude of the staff - rolling their eyes at us and the boys.

The patrons were actually much more welcoming to a family than the staff was - the next morning, a group of bikers came by our cabin and let my boys sit on a "Hog" for photos.

Most all of the staff we encountered were pretty nice-except of course when I challenged the pay in advance rule.

Personnel are friendly and were helpful to us.

What I admittedly missed in the confirmation email they sent me was that I had to pay the BALANCE DUE of 4 nights (one night paid a couple of months in advance for the reservation) when I checked in.

The rooms are modest, comfortable, clean, and very affordable.

Our room was clean and had the necessary things but was not luxurious.

My room was very nice and clean, the prime rib is great!
