• But everything else about the room we stayed in was horrible. The toilet was disgusting.

  Walls were thin and noise from other rooms was easily noticed. Parking is $16 per night and large SUVs (Ford Expedition) for example had to be valet parked outdoors in a surface parking lot.

  The lobby and the location are the best things about this place. Plus my room was not cleaned once during my whole stay (3 nights! So like I said, the lobby is nice and the location is good, but other than that, this place doesn't have a lot going for it.

  It had older furnishings that looked like they had not been updated in many years and a constant noise emanating from the boiler room across the hall. I had the 'do not disturb' sign on the door for a few hours during the day but there were more than enough hours left when I was out of the room for housekeeping to straighten up! In addition, the internet access, which is $9.

  The rooms are rundown, tired and worn, inferior materials and badly in need of renovation. There is even an unidentifiable and vague unpleasant odor in the room.

  Having staying here for around a week, I would say that I quite satisfy with overall service and room condition at this hotel. The room size is alright, and equipped with the coffee maker, hair dryer, cable TV. The wireless Internet also free at the lobby and also have 2 computers + printer for hotel guests, but the hotel does not have wireless Internet in the room.

  The hotel also offer free shuttle service to around Oakland area, which leave the hotel every hour from 7AM to 10PM. The bad part is even though, they have laundry service, it is extremely expensive.

  Our 2 night stay at this hotel was excellent. When checking-in assigned a room on the 8th floor. Bathroom was big and modern (tile floors, new toilet, etc). The room overall was very good and comfortable although a harder mattress would have been nice.

  034;The entire staff (from the front desk to the bartender to the shuttle drivers were outstanding). One huge negative was the transportation services.

  The hotel shuttle system is not very timely.

  Spotlessly clean and very nice.

  Have stayed at this location before and was happy stay again. Perfect location, nice, clean, safe, everything you look for when staying in an in-town environment.

  Our check-in was speedy and prompt only to find that our room had not been cleaned and the housekeeping staff were unable to say when it would be cleaned. The good points: parking is only by valet but they are courteous fellows with a speedy delivery time.

  The new room we were given had massive red stains on the green carpet, a hunk of dried cheese stuck to the side of the tub, and toothpaste splatterings on the wallpaper of the bathroom. I choose this hotel because it was cheaper than the Holiday Inn Select I normally stay at, and well, you get what you pay for! We ordered room service for breakfast and it was tasty and delivered on time. Previous management comments indicate that new housekeeping manager has been hired. Perhaps the general manger should try sleeping in a room and being a guest anonymously once a month.

  The Wyndham in Pittsburgh is a pretty good hotel, its clean and comfortable with friendly, helpful staff. Whether its location is good for you really depends on why you are in pittsburgh. The hotel is located very close to both Pittsburgh University and CMU, however it is a 10 miinute bus-ride to downtown. There are some bars close to the hotel but these are mostly student bars, if you want a larger selection you really need to go to Shady-side or South-side which are both a 5-10 minute taxi journey.

  There is a free shuttle service on the hour (most of the time) from the hotel.
