  But they were clean, the air conditioning was not good. There was only one english TV channel but a wide choice of russian and other languages. One other thing i want to add is that there are a few cats roaming around and a dog at one point the cats were friendly i'm afraid i'm a cat lover and found a litter of kittens we fed and fussed the cats at the sheer horror of the russians! So all in all the hotel is beautiful, the staff hardworking,the location is fantastic,but don't go if you can't cope with rude guests or unusual food or the cats plight.

  The staff are very helpful and the place is kept beautifully. The food is good although the dining room can get very busy. The bedrooms are reasonable and kept clean but could do with a little updating. We are a couple in our 60's but do like a bit of life when we go on holiday and quiet spots can always be found there if required.

  Lara Beach is a fantastic place, it is a long stretch of 5* hotels, the majority themed so the transfer to the hotel is wonderful. The porters/reception staff were polite on arrival and we were checked in immediately. The rooms aren't huge, but were perfect for two people. The decor is slightly dated, but our room on the 2nd floor was cool, bright and airy. We had a fridge with Pepsi, Fanta, beer amongst other branded drinks, and a television with many Satelite channels. Everything was spotless and the beds were extremely comfortable. The hotel complex itself is amazing, with several bars and restaurants, a nightclub, a 24 hour lobby bar, shops and more! The pool which I never visited looked lovely with a lot of activities. Mealtimes are always different with a wide variety of food in the HUGE buffet restaurant as well as the a la carte restaurants which are difficult to book simply because they are so nice!

  Yes after arriving in the early hours of the morning your rooms at 1st sight do seem not up to scratch. We have learned that refurb is due on them later this year, but all linen & towels are very very clean as are the rooms themselves and after all a room is purely for sleeping & getting ready! All entertainment & activities are great and varied and the entertainment team do work really hard and are professional. All over the complex it is very very clean and most of the staff are very very pleasant.

  3 children we had an extra bed which I wouldn't sleep a dog on. The place was very clean but the recepition staff were extremeley unhelpful and there were large groups of conference guests who always got priority.

  We were put in a 2 bedroomed family room which is always on the top floor of the hotel. We were told by Thomas Cook that everything would be open but because easter was early the majority of the facilites were shut, many bars including the snack bars, the ice cream facilites kids buffet and early sitting were all unavailable. The a la carte is a joke, you have to reserve after 9am but we tried at 8.

  1wk at topkapi palace,never to be repeated,rated as 5 star far from it been to lots of hotels in different countries far superior the room was large large bed with xtra bed settee bathroom adequate in size but needed refurb.

  Our initial thoughts on the rooms were that they were of a very good standard - cleanliness could not be faulted - the size of the rooms for a family of four was of the standard expected in a Hilton equivelent back home and the beds were 6ft wide and very comfortable. Mini bar in room was a welcomed extra included in the price - only draw back was getting the time to use the contents. Everything around the complex is on a map - take time to familiarise yourself- Staff were very pleasant even if no tip! Excursions worthwhile if u want shopping - food choice brilliant - use a la carte facility- phone at 9am - everyone else does - europeans tend to get up earlier thanEnglish people - relax and tolerate other nationalities there are lots of sunloungers and there is absolutely no chance of going hungry - animation team work really hard day and night with lots of activities for everyone - no broadway shows but enough to give light entertainment - excellent place for all ages- having gone abroad to all standards of accommodation over the last 20 years with and without kids I think this is hard to beat - they agree! If you want waited on try the Gloria Golf Verde - you can have a private butler - or the Xanadu - available in Uk from Thomas Cook - 24hr room service.

  I would say, however on our return visit the following year the rooms allocated looked as though they could have done with being upgraded but not so bad that it would ruin our holiday - afterall how many hotels redecorate every year?

  The grounds were lovely,3 swimming pools,lazy river&wave pool. The alarcarte resteraunts(turkish&italian)was beautiful,didnt eat at the fish alarcarte. The animation staff are lovely,they work really hard.

  The reception staff are very rude indeed,dont go to them if you have a problem,see your rep.
