We had an on-line internet rate with the hotel, which was exceptionally good value for money.
net did it again, a great hotel for a great price.
I can't believe Booked.net did it again, a great hotel for a great price.
We paid extra for internet access on the tv as we wanted to book hotels for the next night - it was a complete waste of time & money as most of the websites didn't work and you couldn't use it to book anything.
The location is close to the Gaslamp district, Horton Plaza and is adjacent to the train system.
The best thing about the hotel was the location, as it was convenient to many of the local sites in San Diego, and very close to one of the main shopping centers.
We thought the room price was accurate for location and it's excellent service.
Hotel has free shuttle to/from airport but a cab is only $10.
If you know downtown San Diego, then you know how close it is to the airport, too.
After switching rooms four times, first-no king size bed, second-t.
Our package included a harbor view room, one breakfast in bed, and one dinner at Le Fountainbleu, the hotel's 5* restaurant for a four night stay.
Our room was large with a equally large marbled bathroom - double basins, higher than normal toilet, a roll in shower.
The light in the shared foyer between rooms also kept us awake the first night - but we thought outside the square and made sure we turned it off when we went to bed the following nights.
Bed was comfortable enough but no match for the beds in lower star rated hotels like Sheraton or Marriott.
Wireless is only available in the restaurant and bar).
The food was great, although, I have to be honest with you, I only had breakfast there every day, we were out most of the day and ate somewhere else, but I always ordered room service.
When at Balboa Park, eat at the Prado Restaurant.
Ate there two times for breakfast and once for dinner-one word, deliicious!
The only food we had in the hotel was the Beef roast we had at the wedding breakfast which was just fabulous.
From the shuttle drivers to the Front Desk staff, Roomservice, the service was outstanding.
Fantastic location in the heart of San Diego, the Westgate hotel is great and attentive and friendly front desk staff.
The hotel staff were extremely friendly, service was excellent very professional and our room was large.
The only problem I have is the car parking is expensive, however I don't know of any other downtown hotel that is any different.
Everyone greeted us pleasantly and even looked us in the eye whenever we came upon them in the lobby, elevators, front desk, etc.
The lower concourse has the gift shop/business center, gym and parking.
The only drawbacks I found to my stay were how expensive all of the restaurants in the hotel were (even a light, late-evening snack will set you back $20-$25) and their "high-speed internet" was not wi-fi, but an ethernet line in every room.
The entire hotel, but most importantly the rooms were plush, clean, and beautiful.
Great rooms, clean, spacious and beautiful.
The bathroom, although clean, felt run-down.
The room was like the pictures I saw online, very clean, spacious.
