It had a nice location close to Old Town but I think it would be worth the extra money to stay across the street at the Courtyard which looked much nicer.
A historic area of San Diego and the location of the hotel was great.
Great location, convenient to Sea World and this hotel is ideal.
They have the audacity to charge $5 to park in an underground lot that is too small for many SUVs to manuever in.
The trolley station is nearby which we made use of to travel to the Gaslight section for dinner one night.
The room -- 3rd (top) floor with a queen size bed -- was VERY large.
Overall the rooms seem newly renovated and from the carpet to the bed all seemed new and clean.
Our room was smelly and neither bed-side lamp worked.
The services was great and the bed was sufficiently comfortable.
The carpets are stained, the bathroom tiles are cracked, and the beds are rather worn, but the location is great.
The continental breakfast is a bit skimpy, but there are so many fine restaurants throughout San Diego, it is just as well not to overeat starting with breakfast.
The hotel is within easy walking distance of Old Town park and its many shops and restaurants, as well as a major station to catch the trolley, Coaster or buses (the public transportation is fabulous).
Didn't see any sign of the continental breakfast, but didn't ask about it either.
The breakfast is danishes and orange juice on a table.
The Staff were wonderful, shower water pressure was excellent.

Lobby, elevator, hallways, rooms - perhaps a makeover happened many years ago.
Be advised, the building is older and there is nothing elegant about the small lobby or the outside hallways.
The parking garage was very difficult to get our mid-size car in and out of (and cost $5/day to use).
Clean and large rooms, skipped the continental breakfast only consisted of coffee, as well as giving us a coupon for free appitizers for a local resturant.
Location was perfect and hotel was great the room were very clean.
The services is alway great, the room are quite big and clean.

The linens were clean but the blankets on the beds had rips in them.
