Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao - 达沃市

A nice location, but never book the cheaper rooms: they have bedbugs.

The location is nice, the grounds of the hotel are delightful for a walk at any time of the day and staff are very friendly and hospitable.

Samil Island and the convenience of being within a few pesos taxi ride of downtown Davao with its air conditioned malls, videoke bars and discos.

The hotel is very safe and secure as there is a gate with guards and taxis have to show there id before entering the hotel property.

The bathroom needed some updating on fixtures and the water pressure is very low - takes a long time to get a shower.

But the bathroom /showers did not have any hot water!

The more expensive rooms are OK, but beware, the Waterfront seems to be the favorite venue in Davao for weddings, etc, and all rooms unfortunately face the party area.

The Deluxe rooms are really spacious and come with a generously sized balcony overlooking the beach and swimming pool.

Furthermore rooms were adequate, the complimentary breakfast was good.

Staff are exceedingly friendly ( a trait I have found in many hotels in ther Philippines)whether they are serving meals in your room, by the scenic swimming pool area or in the popular little Vinta bar.

The quality of the meals was always excellent and the choice at the buffet breakfast quite daunting.

Our stay included breakfast there and the staff was great but the choice of food, while good, was limited and got old after about 3-4 days.

Very beautiful gardens and grounds, patios and restaurants.

There is an outstanding seafood restaurant about 5 minutes away called Marina Tuna.

A nice location, superb service at a superb hotel and the staff were always freindly.

Staff service was excellent - couldn't fault this at all.

Staff were friendly, rooms are so and so, and they have masseure for extra service.

An added bonus is that you can change travellers cheques at reception on a 7 day a week all hours basis - which is just great if like me you dont want to trust your credit card in the ATMs that are found in the various city malls like SM or Gaisano.

This hotel would rate as the best, the staff was great and internet charges were reasonable - $2.

The hotel had almost finished being renovated, the staff were excellent always happy.

The food is really good there, the swimming pool is nice.

The rooms were fine and clean, security was good but the best is how the staff greet you any where in the hotel grounds.
