Walper Terrace Hotel Kitchener

The suite I was given (after turning down the 2 others) had very old, window-mounted a/c units in both rooms, which were extremely noisy & could only be set to 'hi', "low' or 'off'.

The bathroom has has nice fluffy robes, but the cheapest, thinnest, roughest toilet paper & facial tissues I've ever encountered.

The halls are not a/c at all so it's like a steam bath when you step out of your room.

I stayed in a 1-bedroom suite on the "Executive Floor".

The first 2 suites I was shown had no a/c at all in the bedroom which would have made sleeping impossible on this hot July night.

Only complaint was that the chef in the Terrace Cafe must have been half asleep when preparing the breakfast.

Nice pub-restaurant dowstairs where we had a good supper and excellent service.

The waitress service more than made up for that though!

Dont remember the name of the waitress but she looked like Karen Black amd the service was great and with humour.

Service and potential fire safety issues were brought to the management's attention in writing at least 4 times via e-mail and fax.

The only parking is not adjacent to the hotel, but is in a large public parking lot, 1 block away, dark at night, & accessible via an alley.

The hotel should explain the parking set-up when booking & checking in, & offer to either park your car or accompany you to/from the parking lot.

Parking is across the street and in a lot that is always full.

They have done an excellent job undating the hotel with such amentities as Wireless High Speed, while still preserving the details and service of a Historic Hotel.

An older building has beed nicely redone and updated, rooms are clean.

The service was excellent, the bathroom was clean.
