Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa Honolulu

The hotel is located on the East side of Waikiki in a great location.

This location is far superior to the location where the Sheraton Waikiki is located.

Great location close to the beach with plenty of places to eat within walking distance.

We didn't have to touch our checked luggage from the time we checked into the Marriott until we boarded a taxi for the airport for the flight home.

You can get a taxi with Star taxi for $30 for a trip to the airport.

The rooms are comfortable, although the bathroom in the king-bed room is small (with a pocket door).

The bathroom was very clean with a separate room for the bath tub and toilet.

The bathroom was nicely finished with an outside marble vanity area and a clean tiled inner room with a 5 ft bathtub - and I've heard that a lot of other hotels in Waikiki don't have tubs.

I asked for a king size bed because it was our anniversary and the guy at the front desk said he would rather see us in a room with a great view and two double beds.

There was just a tub, toilet and single sink, and our carpet smelled a bit musty, but the bed and pillows were very, very comfortable.

The food was fine but not compelling enough to eat at the hotel restaurant outside of breakfast.

Then there are the concierges who act annoyed that you are asking questions about what to do and where to eat - sorry thought that was their job to tell me about Pearl Harbor or give me a restaurant choice which doesn't serve greasy bar food.

The restaurants all look fantastic, but we only ate at the Kuhio Beach Grill for breakfast.

Restaurant Run (sushi and noodle bar) was an excellent lunch spot as was the pool side Moana terrace and Arancino's.

We didn't sample any of the hotel's restaurants or food except breakfast, that was included in our room rate.

Very friendly service - from front desk, to bar and restaurant staff.

This manager and the front desk staff have the customer service skills of a Motel 6.

There are two small (not uncommon for the area) but nice pools with nicer deck chairs, a pool bar, a hot tub and cabanas (for a fee), a small but highly promoted spa, a garage ($18/day fee), internet access (for a fee) and a small gym (no charge!

Elevators were undergoing renovation, meaning a 5-10 minute wait most times, sometimes waiting for two or three elevator cars because you were standing in the lobby with 20 other people also waiting.

Awesome because it works in the room and in the lobby and near the pool.

The only gripe that I have for the Marriott would be about their Wi-Fi access.

The ONLY reason I chose this hotel was for the wireless HS internet.

I am really a clean freak, and I can say that the room was very clean and tidy.

The decor is the rooms is a bit dated, although the rooms themselves are very clean.

The view was spectacular and the room itself was very very spacious and clean.

The rooms were newly renovated and oh so CLEAN!

The room was quiet, large and clean, the balcony very large.
