So much nicer than being crammed into a hotel room for a week, and for a 3rd the price.
We paid full price to stay in the hotel; we did not stay here for the timeshare presentation.
We had to find another hotel in the ninth hour however our money is tied with the owner as the manager stated it went to him.
We (11 in all incliding 4 chlidren) stayed in a 4-bedroom townhome in La Meridian (great location) which is close to the clubhouse where the pool, spa, store, etc are located.
We enjoyed the location to all the Parks Disney & Universal, try Lynksters Tap room pub at the shops next to Quiznos Subs, very friendly.
Before I give my Pros and Cons, let me preface my review with this: My opinion may be biased, as the location and price were driving forces behind choosing the Regal Palms.
Being a Floridian, I did not want to do the typical 'strip-trip' and purposely choose a location further away.
Day One in the pool at the residence, I sliced my foot on a two inch shard of glass at the bottom of the pool (some pool cleaning?
In the townhouse unit, there is a kitchen, washer-dryer, living room, half bathroom and kitchen downstairs; three bedrooms (2 twin beds each in smaller bedrooms, 1 king bed + tv in master bedroom), 2 full bathrooms upstairs.
The other three bedrooms were upstairs, the master bedroom had a king sized bed and a bathroom in it and their was also a balcony.
The sink and tub did not drain properly, there were ants or something that resembled ants in the kitchen and bathrooms and the beds (atleast the Master bed) was hard as a rock.
The first bedroom which was located downstairs had a queen sized bed and a bathroom.
For a similar price that we would have paid for a one-room hotel, we stayed in a beautifully decorated, and fully furnished 3-bedroom/3bath (FYI- he also has a 4-bedroom available) townhouse at Regal Palms Resort.
Restaurant and bar were OK, if a little expensive, but a ten minute drive and you are on the US192 which is packed with shops, bars and every kind of eatery you could hope to find.
Our patio table sat four as did the kitchen table and we only had two stools at the breakfast bar.
The pool was very clean as was the bar and restaurant.
The restaurant and bar employees were all very friendly.
The great thing is that there is a Publix Supermarket and Applebees' Restaurant in walking distance, so the driver can get to have a few beers with his/her meal and walk home.
I agree that the service on the front desk wasn't that great, but i was talking to the manager, and she said she was working on this.
The front desk staff were quite helpful to me and the pool at the Regal Palms Resort was very nice.
It is a bit of a distance from the lobby, pool, spa and restaurant.
It was well worth the price we paid ($85/night) which included breakfast, parking and use of the pool facilities.
The jacuzzi in the fitness center was nice although I never used it.
I have a wireless modem and this is the first "resort" that I was unable to use my laptop.
Even a Days Inn has wireless internet -- for free!
The 3bdrm/3bath condo was clean and the kitchen was well equipped.
The hot tub was hot and the whole area kept very clean.
The 3bdrm/3bath condo was clean and the layout of the floor plan was spacious for a family of 6.
Our 3-bedroom condo was plenty spacious and comfortable, food was also great, facility were very nice and clean.
The unit we stayed in was very nice and clean and more than enough room.
