Villa Principe Leopoldo Hotel & Spa Lugano - 盧加諾

It was without doubt the most pictureque location I've ever experienced for a conference!

The location is not that great either, you are outside of the downtown, and although they tell you walking to town is an option there is no way you can.

The hotel itself was on a steep hillside which would not offer an easy or even the possiblity of a walk to town, but instead it was a 25€ cab ride from/to the rail station.

The room had an entrance hall with four doors off it - two were large walk-in closets and the other two were bathrooms - one with a toilet, bidet and sink and the other with a bath, separate shower and sink.

The resort is splitted into two buildings, the Villa with Junior Suites (our room) with spectacular views over the lake or the Residence with double rooms facing the pool.

The only fault I could find was a small amount of peeling paint in our bathroom and room service did not answer their phone for 10 - 12 rings.

TV swiveled so it could be viewed from the bed or the couch on the lower level.

The decor of the rooms is quite old fashioned but I found the room extremely clean and it had been well maintained so there were not many signs of wear and tear.

The food at the main restaurant is excellent, but the more casual meals are pretty basic and expensive for what they are.

Full breakfast buffet,plus cook-to-order egg dishes.

The food was fantastic - there were approximately 100 attendees at the conference staying at the Principe Leopoldo and other hotels, but we all ate together at the Leopoldo for each meal and the quality of the food was consistently outstanding.

Staff at reception is friendly and multilingual, but managers can be very blunt and un-diplomatic, which is not what you can expect of a hotel of this standard.

For those that appreciate being slightly "above it all", the Prince Leopold offers shuttle bus service Dining experiences are lovely as well.

The Front Desk people are all very helpful and will fullfill nearly all desires you may have.

Disgusting hotel and provided very good service.

We did not think that the staff was stuffy as stated in previous opinions.

The other part is quieter, across the road, and has a nice swimming pool.

They do offer a shuttle, but it only runs every 2 hours and the last pick up from town is at 6:45pm, so if you go to town for dinner you have to take a cab home.

Excellent hotel, service was good and rooms were very clean.
