The hotel is beautiful, easily the best for the price we paid compared to prices others were charging!
The hotel is located a good 10-15 minutes' walk from the main part of Taormina - we countered this by using taxis but for most people a little pre-dinner exercise will be a price worth paying for those uninterrupted views and quiet nights.
The hotel is perfect - a small mid price range place to stay set in a unique building in a perfect location.
We had an unbelievable breakfast every morning on the top floor of the hotel which was included in the price of the room.
The location was perfectly situated, centrally located between the Corso Umberto and the beach.
It is in a good location because it is not in the center of town and is is also close to the cable car.
In terms of location the hotels is well placed, easy walk to everything we wanted to see.
We e-mailed the hotel a few days before and they sent a taxi to meet us from the airport (80 Euro) which made everything go very smoothly.
One tip: ask the hotel to arrange a taxi for you as we got ripped off on our trip from Catania airport (€150) whereas on the way back, we got the trip for €80 through the hotel.

Our comfortable room was more spacious than most European hotel rooms, beautifully decorated in rich fabrics and furniture, complete with a king bed and sitting area.
The room was huge - it had a separate entrance with cupboards, a lovely bathroom with claw-footed bath and bedroom with lounge and 2 balconies, one with a sea view and view over the pool.
The bed was extremely comfortable, there were two lovely sitting chairs, the balconies provided exceptional views, the room was amply well lit, and the bathroom was elegant and spacious.
Too bad the bar is not staffed, sometimes not enough sunloungers or towels to go round and super roof top terrace a royal breakfast is served.
The breakfast buffet was spectacular (I market buffet restaurants) and provided solid and delicious sustenance for the bulk of the day as well as being served in a beautiful setting.
The roof top restaurant where breakfast is served is a romantic beautiful spot with great views of the sea below.
There is a shuttle bus to its own private beach area which has sun loungers and towels and is serviced with toilet, shower facilities, restaurant and bar.
The breakfast buffet was delicious, we loved our room and the cool hotel bar, and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful.
The service was teriffic--the staff was attentive and provided helpful answers to our questions.

The staff made our stay at Villa Carlotta an absolute pleasure, the service was helpful and friendly, a free upgrade to a larger suite was a real treat.
We particularly enjoyed the wonderful views from the breakfast terrace, the beautiful flowery garden and the pool.
We were lucky to get two junior suites ( one having its own conservetory ) and terrace next to the garden and beautiful pool.
Whilst peaceful and relaxing in the garden, the pool and surrounding terrace was on the small side.
COMPLEMENTARY high speed internet by wireless in every room (and an internt point near the lobby if you don't travel with your laptop).
The decor is very tasteful yet luxurious, the bathrooms are gorgeous and spottlessly clean and the food in the restuarant is delicious.
The hotel has a charm and character and our room was an excellent size and very clean.
Our room (garden view) was small with a very small shower, but very clean and nicely appointed.
The decor was amazing, the staff was helpful and friendly, our room was clean.
In addition the room was clean, breakfast on the terrace was really amazing.
