Viengtai Hotel Near Khao Sarn Bangkok - 曼谷

Located in the hub of things and although a little noisy at night, really nice location to soak up the atmosphere and buzz of Bangkok.

The location is great - close to grand palace and Khao San Road whilst still being quiet.

The location of this hotel is great if you want to be in close proximity to the excitement of Khao San Road.

When I arrived at the airport I forgot to negotiate a price before getting into the Taxi.

One has to wait in a line up out front of the airport for a taxi.

The room was old and small, the bathroom musty, the furnishings weren t really clean, including the sheets, the bed was old, stained and hard as plywood, the carpet was old, and probably hasn t been vacuumed in a while, the fridge didn t work.

We made reservation for a king bed which was not available when we arrived so they upgraded us to a Deluxe Room had nice wood floor with Queen Bed which worked just fine.

We had to get two rooms for two, with additional bed.

On my booking i had requested a smoking room with a double bed and away from the street, the room we got was non-smoking and at the front of the hotel facing right on to the street.

The rooms are a decent size and nicely decorated and furnished - request a room on one of the top floors - they are the refurbished ones.

Breakfast bar is decent offering Thai, Chinese and Western breakfasts.

The breakfast buffet is lovely and has a great variety as well as their lunch buffet.

Breakfast is Western and Asian styles plenty to eat which is included in the room cost.

Breakfast was very good, an all-u-can-eat buffet.

Ate breakfast there once and it was pretty good.

The hotel reception is nice and the staff friendly, although they do ask for a lot of personal information which was not the case in other Thai hotels I stayed at.

The reception staff were very helpful and I was able to leave a bag there safely while I traveled elsewhere which was great.

The staff have not changed in a few years and the service is great and always smiling faces willing to help.

Reception staff appeared somewhat uninterested and not very cooperative, which doesn't have to be a big problem but doesn't make you feel all that welcome either.

I kept my shoulders covered while in Bangkok unless I was at the pool in my hotel.

Turn right from the lobby and walk to the end of the block, turn right and walk one block, turn right again and walk along Khoa San Road.

Centrally located, friendly staff and large clean rooms.

The carpet in the room could also have used a clean.

Their rooms were all clean and of a higher standard than many I have stayed in at home.

Rooms are clean and there is a nice swimming pool you can cool off after a crazy day in bangkok.

The room was a bit worn, but perfectly clean and very spacious.
