Victoria & Alfred Hotel

The location is great and a very good hotel situated on the harbour side.

The location of the hotel is excellent, right on the waterfront next to all of the shops and restaurants.

Great location close to shopping, i have never had a better reception at any hotel anywere in the world and the rooms are large.

We had organised via email transfer from airport to Hotel, our driver was prompt, courteous and professional - would recommend starting your trip this way.

Everything that they had agreed to arrange for us was done - ie driver to and from airport, 8 hour private car tour with a driver/guide (which was wonderful), early check in, picnic lunch, etc.

The room itself was lovely, large, clean and well maintained - comfy king size bed, large bathroom with separate toilet and bath.

The bathroom was great with a soaking tub and shower,and seperate toilet room with sink.

The service from the heart petals on the bed (we were on honeymoon), the complimentary champagne, to the instant room service was better than any hotel I have stayed in recently.

The room (we had a king size bed) was very spacious and very comfortable.

The chocolates the maid left on our pillow when she turned down the bed each night weren't that great!

We only ate at the restaurant for breakfast, but the food was fabulous.

Note that the V@A rate includes a full English breakfast - both a buffet and a hot meal menu was included in the rate at the restaurant - which we did not find mentioned any where before we left.

The cooked breakfasts were good, but we did notice some flies around the cold breakfast buffet, so look carefully before you eat!

Very helpful staff, large rooms and champagne for breakfast in addition to other regular breakfasts fares.

Excellent location right on the waterfront, plus a great view of Table Mountain from the Hotel's restaurant during breakfast and the staff are very efficient - one night we smelled burning in our room.

Fantastic staff, comfortable room and laundry services returned a sparkling clean pillow the next day.

The second morning we woke up to hammering so we spoke to the staff on reception who were very apologetic and offered to discount our room rate or move us to another hotel.

Location was great all the people were super friendly high marks food was good, best hotel I've ever stayed at and the service of the staff was excellent.

The elevator was called for us upon our walking into the lobby, never once did we push that button.

I was dismayed to realize the hotel did not have a pool and arrangements were immediately and pleasantly made for me to use the pool at their sister hotel a few blocks away,with complimentary shuttle service.

Were only there for two nights so lack of on site pool and gym was not an issue.

Both wireless and high speed cable internet are available.

We stayed in the V&A over New Year - our room was spotless and large - food excellent.

The rooms were large, well-appointed and immaculately clean.

Bathroom was sparkling clean, breakfast buffet was wonderful and the pool were all very nice.

The room was very clean and bright, with lots of little touches that make your stay extra comfortable.
