The hotel is nicely placed in Newcastle for the shops and quayside, however its proximity to the East Cost Trainline is a bit of a problem.
Considering the hotel claims it is a 4 star hotel and cost?
Although you expect to pay over the odds for wine in a hotel, the markup at the Vermont is also quite astonishing.
The Vermont has an ideal location and the hotel is very central.
The hotel is in a fairly good location and looks very nice.
Finally a couple of major plus points - location, you could not find a better location if your aim is to see Newcastle and experience the night life and secondly the late check out is brilliant - 1.
It’s a short walk from the train station and to the city centre.
We wanted somewhere central, near the train station and nightlife, comfortable and reasonably priced for one night.
We had a complimentary suite on the 10th floor and it was a beautiful room, we had a lovely lounge and dining area, a huge bathroom and a lovely bedroom.
Additionally the staff are very friendly, free standing TV in room too low to watch comfortably in bed.
The room was a double room and had a double bed, seating area and small table, desk, tv and dvd player.
Went to fill my bath and had no water from the tap, nor would the toilet flush, called reception and was given another room.
One of my friends was put in a room a quarter of the size of mine, which had a fold out bed.
Bar was delicious and breakfast was nice.
Breakfast was relaxed and delicious, the gala dinner was superb great food.
The rooms were comfortable, breakfast from the service to the food was fantastic.
Great view over the river, near central train station and the food in the Bridge Restaurant was gorgeous.
Moreover the rooms are large, the Redwood bar is delightful and food could not have been better.
In addition excellent service from the staff, the concierge was so helpful and nice, our room was clean.
Reception staff are quite unhelpful - I had personally spoken to reservations about our requirements (twin beds; breakfast included at special rate) and reception essentially told me that I was wrong and couldn't have had that conversation.
Close to city center, would be happy to recommend the hotel and the reception staff are really friendly.
Thanks again to the concierge and front of house staff who know exactly the right spots to go to.
When we arriived we were shown to a parking space at the front of the hotel - after having to pay to park at many city centre hotels this was a great start.
The lifts were playing up and after several floors up and down and up and down, decided to walk.
If you’re coming by car, there is free valet parking.
The rooms were clean, super breakfast served till 11am was great and the concierge was really helpful.
The rooms were clean and well equipped, and as big as in any other city centre hotel I have stayed in.
If you want a run of the mill then this is not the hotel for you, it is unique warm and welcoming, the staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were well turned out and clean.
Bathroom were spotless and the breakfast was superb.
The service is very attentive, the rooms are clean and comfortable, huge breakfast fit for king and delicious.
