This was by far the most expensive hotel we stayed in during our two weeks in north-western India, but I can’t say it wasn’t worth the money - it's good value, especially after a few simpler nights.

This is a good, comfortable hotel that's convenient and provides value for money.

This hotel proves that Indian hotels in the mid price range really can be world class - it provides for a very reasonable price what one usually finds in India for top dollar only.

For Indian's hotels of this standard, this is a great price.

I would stay there again because of the location close to the Taj Mahal and the standard of the rooms but they need to brush up on service.

It is a good location as it is quite close to the Taj Mahal.

I would stay here again and would encourage you to consider the location, price and facilities too.

It may be a short distance fron Agra but taxis in India are cheap.

The hotel is a little way out from the town and Taj Mahal is a car ride/taxi or rikshaw - you could not walk all that way.

The room and beds(we requested king size bed) is just nice for 2 adults and 2 young kids.

Rooms are average in size with double bed, TV with lots of English channels, tea+coffe maker.

Even thought you can't book the hotel for two adults/two children, it wans't a problem to put our entire family into one room with a king size bed and a rollaway.

It was clean, the room was a proper hotel room with a nice double bed.

The room itself is rather on the dark side with a good nice bed.

The restaurant was good and catered to international taste as well as providing a variety of local cuisine dishes.

Currently there is some building work happening to the restaurant, which means that the alternative restaurant is a little smaller, and there is no bar (well, there's an area in the lobby, but it's not the same).

The decor in the lobby/bar restaurant is delightful, clean lines,.

While we were there the restaurant and bar were being refurbished but we saw enough to know that once this is complete the hotel will be very modern and comfortable in the public areas.

The lobby/ bar and restaurant are surprisingly modern.

Hotel staff, both front desk and restaurant, were outstanding and could not ask for a better service.

The service was impeccable and the staff were charming and friendly - I was particularly impressed at their patience with two young children who were running riot!

The decor is simple and elegant, the staff are delightful, the service excellent.

Staff are very pleasant and the reception desk in particular is very warm and friendly.

The swimming pool was nice, but the indoor fitness center was substandard and claustrophobic.

The other facilities (pool, gym, etc) were also very nice.

But it is a good value for money and has very nice public areas - lobby, restaurant, wonderful kids club and gardens and swimming pool.

The hotel is relatively basic by Hilton standards but offered comfortable rooms that were far from luxurious but were clean and well maintained.

Rooms are clean and food is ok: buffet including western and indian food.

The rooms are decent in size, and quite clean.

We stayed for one night in December on a tour of India and we enjoyed it very much the rooms are very nice clean and comfortable , The food was very good and the staff superb all in all a very pleasant experience.

Rooms clean, nice pool, very peaceful and close to the Taj Mahal.

    Do not accept any offers for transport by people on the platforms, they rip you off. Although service was a little lengthy the food certainly made up for it. We approached him about our incorrect ticket and he said we can cancel and get another for 1200 INR which we did, we ended paying extra however almost twice the price of he original ticket (actual cost 274 INR for 2 passengers) his asking price was 1200 INR plus service charges, outrageous! Staff were friendly however we did come back to our room after a days touring to find that there was a staff member in our room who had obvsiously gone through our things, and he was chatting on the phone which i had to pay for at check out, to somebody which he quickly hung up on when we got there. He reckons he was talking to his supervisor but i dont think you do that sitting on the guest's bed with your feet up on the chair.

    We arrived at the Trident Agra via a very dusty bus ride from Jaipur (as I said, this was a budget trip). Clean and quiet, with a zen/modern feeling to the lobby. The rooms are lovely and clean, and feel like a Hilton anywhere in the world (which we consider a good thing). The other facilities (pool, gym, etc) were also very nice. For example, you might have to ask more than once to get bottled water, a drink order, movie times, etc. It was fun to talk with them, in large part because they didn't have the reserve/maturity that you expect from staff at "fancy" hotels.

    Second, many of the hotel's staff are either hotel school students or recent hotel school graduates, and so the help that you get is often a bit unpolished or unpredictable.

    Rooms immaculate, with view over pool, food excellent, handy for sights railway station etc. Staff couldnt do enough for you.

    We had originally wanted to stay in as many heritage hotels as we could, however due to the very competitive price we stayed at the Trident. 5 weeks and feeling the effects, walking around in 43 degree heat and sleeping on hard beds in sometimes questionable accommodation, the Trident was a welcome relief. It also had a very comfortable queen size bed and not two singles joined together, as we found in a lot of our other accommodation. The staff were the best we came across in our 2 week stay in India, and also discourage tipping!

    It also provide a good quiet place to wind down after an exhausted day of sightseeings. The room itself is rather on the dark side with a good nice bed. As an SPG member, I was given a deluxe room with a view to the pool which certainly helps in shielding the room from the sound. The bed is a bit soft, the sheet could be a bit whiter though. There is a sign in the room that basically discourage the guests from tipping.

    The morning breakfast buffet is in a word, horrible.

    The layout of the hotel was like a courtyard or square with the rooms around the pool. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

    The hotel is VERY nice and the service is impeccable. The pool is very clean and inviting, especially after a day of siteseeing in 35+ degrees weather! The rooms are very clean and the washrooms are very modern. However, the thing that impressed me the most was the beds and pillows. My bed at the hilton was the ONLY one in India that reminded me off my bed back home.

    This hotel proves that Indian hotels in the mid price range really can be world class - it provides for a very reasonable price what one usually finds in India for top dollar only. The entire hotel is beautifully designed and the rooms are modern, elegant and comfortable. The public areas are comfortable - the pool and garden are peaceful and pretty, the dining area is clean and well lit, the bar has just (Nov 2006) been refurbished. Attentive, friendly, efficient and staff all have the brains to take the initiave in providing good service rather than ploddingly following a set script. Food is good and one knows it's "safe" to eat it - no fears of Delhi Belly here and very enjoyable cuisine to boot. I stayed overnight in April and revisited just for a meal in November and was consistently impressed by this hotel, especially when comparing it to several others of similar and higher price ranges. Comfortable hotel, elegant rooms, lovely setting, excellent food and service.

    Hotel was very clean and tidy with a lovely pool area. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the rooms were fine with exceptionally comfortable beds. Indian-ness" The Jewellers had some nice pieces at rather reasonable prices but the massages in the Beauty shop were definitely not up to standard.
