The Traverse Bay Inn was ideal and the prices on the area hotels I found to be exceptional.
Having said that, there are a few things that need to be addressed - the stairs were very steep and narrow (about 8" deep, barely enough to get your foot on), making the ascent a little tough, especially during the night.
It had a living room w/sleeper sofa, kitchenette, bathroom, and 1 King bedroom on the first floor, and a really nice jacuzzi tub in the Queen bedroom upstairs.
Our 2-bedroom suite at Traverse Bay Inn was simple adequate, the staff at this hotel was very nice gracious and the room was more pleasant than we expected.
The bathroom (there was just the one, downstairs) had to be the smallest on record, barely enough room to squeeze into, small tub, & no place to put toiletries.
Great Value, staff make worthwhile and a really nice jacuzzi tub in the Queen bedroom upstairs.
Although it is a bit away from downtown, the huge rooms, pool, hot tub, and staff make it worthwhile.
It had a full kitchentte stocked with dishes, toaster ect.
The front desk manager at the Lodge, although sympathetic to our dilemma, was not very helpful in helping us find another place to stay with an indoor pool.
Great place and the staff are very helpful.
The pool area was great for my son to play in, free bicycles beach chairs were available for guests and staff at this hotel were nice.
Centrally located along a main street in Traverse City, it was roomy, very clean (housekeeping staff gets 5 stars), and insect-free.
When we made our booking, I assumed we would be staying at the "Lodge" with the indoor pool.
The Inn has an outdoor pool, but we were there in October.
They offered for us to use the pool at the Lodge, which would have required us to bring a change of clothes, drive two miles, etc.
The hotel is very clean, the staff is excellent and the rooms are well.
The staff were professional and friendly, room was clean.
The room and kitchenette was very clean and well stocked for our needs.
