  The hotel staff was nosy and accused me of smoking in the room (which we weren't) and threatened me with an additional $250 'cleaning charge' for the offense, ruining our evening and making us consider checking out and finding another room.

  The hotel was a little dingy, checking in was difficult with the layout of the parking lot, and the rooms lacked several amenities.

  It was in a good location, close to everything, staff friendly and helpful, thought it was the great especially for the price.

  Nothing really, may be needed some updating, it was an older hotel but clean.

  I had a great experience here, could walk to everywhere we wanted to go to, staff friendly and accommodating, breakfast was simple but good.

• I phoned the Travelodge, and was greeted by a very kind man working the front desk at midnight. He gave us a huge room with 2 queen size beds, a discounted rate, extra towels. Amazing Customer Service, Great Value, Great Location.

  It was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful AND knowledgeable about the area (unlike the Travelodge in Atlanta I recently stayed at), the breakfast had juice, toast, muffins, cereal, etc.

  Little Debbie-type pastries and doughnuts (like the Travelodge in Florida I stayed at), the rooms opened into the hallway rather than the motel-type floor plan typical of most Travelodge's AND it was walking distance to everything.

  The room itself was surprisingly large and very clean, though the bathroom was a bit of a squeeze, but the fridge was a definite plus. Having read earlier reviews complaining about the breakfasts, i thought it was actually pretty good - a basic though quite tasty selection.

  Pros: decent value, close proximity to downtown Toronto (15 minute walk to CN tower and Rogers Centre), front desk was fun and friendly. Overall, the room and bathroom didn't really feel clean. Also I thought the breakfast wasn't too great- only choices were bread for toast (no bagels?

  Cons: room decor was so outdated and ugly, which might not be a concern for some people, but for us we found it to be hideous! Not to mention the countertop in the bathroom was gross and had spots where the surface was worn away. Overall, I guess it was ok seeing as we were there for one night, and didn't spend a lot of time in the room, but they need to do some major updates on the rooms and the breakfast.

  Flew in on a night flight and the staff was very accomodating on getting us into our hotel earlier than 1pm. Hot water all the time, mini fridge was nice too, comfy beds. It's easy to get from the aiport -hotel via Bus,Subway & street car.

  You will need a cab to get to dowtown areas like Yorkville, chinatown, Church street or Kensington market. Our room was a standard with a king sized bed, minifridge and a small balcony (which was a pleasant surprise). The towels were not very big nor plentiful. The mechanical plug in the bathtub was not working and we used a facecloth to stopper it in order to take a bath (shower worked fine.

  The room did smell of smoke despite it being a non smoking room. I would imagine it was a converted smoking room. We are both non smokers and did not find it excessive enough to change rooms.
