  I did hours and hours of research via the internet checking out hotel review after hotel review trying to find a hotel that was clean, with a few amenities, and for a budget price. Of all of the hotels I read reviews on, this hotel seemed to be a good option at a great price. First, we paid extra money for a room with a pool view. When I took my children to the complimentary "breakfast", it consisted of a room about 15 feet by 15 feet that had literally 50-60 people in it all shoving past each other to get their food.

  Our view was of the laundromat/game room. The door was warped, and did not close properly, which is what allowed the little lizards into our room! Stepping on lizards, or having to put on shoes when you get out of bed is just not acceptable to me, no matter how inexpensive a hotel is.

  Nice people, good service and rooms are nice. They charge about $1 per day for service charge.

  Each room had a decent sized free safe that came in handy. The motel is very close to Disney parks and parking it $10/ day. I got panhandled coming out of my room one morning by a god Loving derelect that put some kind of curse on me one morning.

  The fixtures in the room were a bit dated. The fridge in the room was ICE cold and so was the air conditioning.

  We first checked in, front desk staff was friendly, however the area is a bit rundown however since going through Booked. There was a hole in the wall, door lock broke, visible black mold in the bathroom, remote for the tv was broke, carpet looked like it was never cleaned.

  We got to our room and we could smell the mold, ect.

  June 2006 was my second stay in the Travelodge Suites East Gate Orange. The first time we had a lovely suite for 4 people, the second time we had two family rooms connected by a small kitchen. Both stays were perfectly enjoyable - good pool, check in desk, rooms etc. I love the huge Orange shaped gift shop which is on site and packed full of great souvenirs, gifts, etc. First time I stayed here was 2001 - by 2006 the rooms seemed a little shabbier, in need of a spruce up but mainly okay. Used the shuttle bus to Disney with no problems - reliable and safe.

  Let me start by telling you, that yes, in a way theses are ''suites'', we asked for a stove top and fridge and that is what we received. The room had 2 double beds, 1 pull-out couch, a small bathroom across the way to the little kitchen. In the rooms itself we had a fridge and microwave, for a total of 2 fridges, 1 microwave and 1 stove top. The rooms are somewhat clean, not that there are bugs or anything, but you can tell that the tub/shower had soap scum on it. The complimentary breakfast was better then expected. His tire ''somehow'' CAME OFF, while he was getting off the highway (he was slowing down at the time), and to put the cherry on the sundae as it is, he made sure we knew "IT WASN'T HIS FAULT", we where stranded for almost an hour and a half before the company sent an other bus to drive us back. To make a long story short, if you have a car, drive yourself, pay the parking ($11), and come and go as you please.

  I think the reviews were about 50/50 and figured a budget hotel was good enough for the amount of time we would be spending in the room. Twice I went to the front desk to make a complaint, with no manager present to speak of. There were no bugs and the housekeeping was ok. You would think that after knowing that several people speak of buying cleaning products to clean the room while on their vacation, that the owners would change a few things around and allow their staff to use bleach on vital surfaces.

  After reading several reviews on this site, we decided to book our 6 night stay at the Traveldoge Suites East Gate Orange, anyway. The next was room 101, which is the very moldy, floor tiles held in place with duct tape, cracked sink room that I read about in several reviews. The man at the front desk was accomodating and switched us to a room which was less moldy and although some floor tiles were craked, they were where they were supposed to be. I decided to take no chances and went to the local Walmart to buy a bleach cleanser to scrub the sink, toilet and bathtub, as well as the shower walls.

  The pull-out couch had fresh sheets just like the beds. We only had one problem w/ very noisy hotel guests but the hotel security staff was very quick & courteous. You shouldn't be in your room much & when you are the rooms are comfortable & restful. Overlook the exterior, check out the rooms!

  Disney World on May 6, 2006 with reservations booked at Travelodge East Gate Orange. But, thanks to my children's amazingly good behavior on the car trip down, we arrived a day BEFORE our reservations and were extremely tired. Now I wasn't so sure, but I kept an open mind and went into the lobby.

  I guess we could have scraped by and done it, especially at one of the Value resorts, but my husband and I wanted a larger room (two small children in very close quarters for a week is not my husband's idea of a vacation). And to make a long story a little shorter, I focued on "suite" type rooms which had at least a micro-fridge combo and a sitting area, that were reasonably inexpensive, and which were still close enough to DW that we could get to the parks easily without too much travel time. I had been hoping that we would be able to check in a day early and that the hotel would be able to accommodate us.

  In the year since we had stayed here last they have added alarm clocks and coffee machines to the rooms. They have also cleaned up the breakfast area and put in a tile floor, much better. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient. The pool is clean and kept at a wonderful temperature. The rooms had two double beds, plus a pull out sofa. The beds (including the sofabed) were very comfortable and the linens were crisp and clean. As far as we are concerned this is a great place to stay at a great price with great service.

  The best thing about the free breakfast is that it is free, the bad part is that it is standard budget hotel breakfast juice, coffee, packaged donuts.
