This hotel has an unassuming exterior, but the interior is beautiful and mixes 19th-century luxury with contemporary comforts. Rooms are spectacular and have chandeliers, oriental carpets, and antiques. It used to be frequented by Mozart and Wagner.

The location was ideal for exploring the city on foot or by tram and there were two things that I liked best about my stay at Hotel Kaiserin Elisabeth.

From the highway, head to the city center, following the signs towards Kärntnerstraße. From Südbahnhof railway station take metro U1 in direction of Kagran and get off at Stephansplatz.

From Vienna airport catch CAT train to Wien Mitte. From there take underground line U3 and get off at Stephansplatz.
