Had a great Christmas experience at a traditional Japanese inn in the mountains. Loved the amazing Japanese cuisine with fresh ingredients. The onsen facilities were amazing and clean with beautiful views of the surrounding nature. Enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the feeling of getting away from the busy city.
The room smelled musty and needed updating. The bed could have been more comfortable.

We had high expectations for the location based on reviews and were not disappointed. The restaurant served French and Japanese cuisine was exceptional. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, it surpassed all our expectations. The view from our room was breathtaking, and the service was excellent. The bathroom was spacious, and the onsen facilities were outstanding.
We found the decor to be a bit old-fashioned and outdated, which didn't match our tastes.

I had a fantastic stay at this ryokan. The hotel is located in a beautiful, isolated area surrounded by pristine forests. The setting is very relaxing, and I enjoyed going for a lovely walk in the morning by the waterfall. The cleanliness of the property was impeccable, and the common spaces were beautiful. The hotel facilities, especially the traditional Japanese rooms, had a lot of charm, despite being a bit outdated. The staff were incredibly kind and went out of their way to help me with everything. Additionally, the hotel provided free transportation from the train station and offered a shuttle service twice a day. The included breakfast and dinner in the modern Japanese restaurant were exceptional, with beautifully presented dishes and a high-quality dining experience.
Can't fault the property in any way.

The hotel was great! They had complimentary drinks and snacks in the lobby, and the shuttle service to the nearby attractions was very convenient. Also, the location up in the mountains made for some stunning views. The hot springs were amazing too, especially the ones outside next to the rushing stream.
There really wasn't much that I didn't like about this hotel, but I suppose the price was a bit steep. However, given all the complimentary amenities and the beautiful location, it was definitely worth it.

Nestled deep in the forest, this hotel offers a serene and secluded getaway. The rooms are spacious, with a pleasant lounge area providing breathtaking woodland views. The onsen facilities are well-maintained, ensuring a blissful relaxation experience. The staff are friendly and efficient, making check-in and other arrangements a breeze. Guests can also enjoy complimentary sparkling wine and other drinks in the cozy public areas. Don't miss out on the delectable meals, which are a highlight of the stay.
Some aspects of the service may lack the personal touch, according to previous guests.

From being welcomed by the shuttle service to the stunning views of the forest, this hotel had it all. The hotel facilities were impressive, with clean and cozy traditional Japanese rooms. The staff was accommodating and friendly, always ready to help me with anything I needed, making my stay a fantastic experience. Parking and transportation were easy, and I had no problem exploring the nearby areas like the town, library, or wasabi farm. The breakfast spread was limited, with only cheap toast bread in the restaurant, but the French breakfast was delicious. And not to forget, the location on top of a snowy mountain in the heart of winter at 500m above the castle town made it a unique experience.
It was all superb.
