      The hotel was new and great value for the $$.

      The special rate of $99 was a fair price for this hotel.

      The beds were comfy, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the location was perfect.

      The rest of the location seems like your in a industrial area.

      The ipod docking station was nice although the sound quality wasn't that great.

      When we checked in I asked for a king size bed and they accommodated our request even though it meant upgrading us to a "water view" room.

      The room was nicely appointed with two queen beds, a desk and wide screen television.

      Upon arriving to the room we noticed that the "Plasma Screen Television" was not there and we were told its due to the hotel being soo new they haven't gotten everything done in all the rooms.

      The room, beds and amenities were very nice.

      Our bed at home is like falling into a marshmallow so that is hard to beat.

      We were told that they had offered a larger menu selection but were not serving the food per "code" and they were redoing the way they were serving their breakfast in the morning.

      The hotel is close to Historic Downtown Melbourne which has some cute shops and restaurants.

      The breakfast was a very nice touch, and even at night with the free beer & popcorn.

      Free high speed internet, breakfast, close to the airport and near Harris Corp.

      I loved it as it saved me $30 per day in bar bills.

      The front desk and housekeeping staff were well-trained.

      The front desk staff was friendly but was not present when I went to check out which was weird.

      Front desk staff was friendly but billing was incorrect so I was billed twice for a single night's stay.

      The fitness center was great with many pieces of equipment.

      The other side of the hotel faces a parking lot and a couple of car dealerships.

      The lobby is spacious and nicely decorated.

      Oh ya the wireless internet NEVER worked the whole time we were there.

        First off the only good thing i have to say about our stay at Tides Waterfront Hotel was the reception staff was amazing. So the front desk gave us a up grade to another room due to our room not being ready. Upon arriving to the room we noticed that the "Plasma Screen Television" was not there and we were told its due to the hotel being soo new they haven't gotten everything done in all the rooms. The was NO Speakman deluxe showers in our room and to make due for that. I'm very good with computer and even i couldn't figure it out.

        Ipod docking station that plugged into the wall at NO charge. Oh ya the wireless internet NEVER worked the whole time we were there. So i called the front desk and they didn't know what to do, they just told me to call the tech support. So i did some investigating on my own, I went to the main computer that's in the lobby and checked there wireless settings and connections what i found was that the wireless connection was not ON. You have to drive about 15 mins to the ocean to swim or jus go in the back to the pool that faces two car dealerships.

        Staff was friendly, FREE drinks - yes free like Embassy Suites does nightly. Rooms are not huge but they are real nice and done well. The Beds will have you sleeping like a baby! The fitness room is probably the best in any hotel I have stayed in for Melbourne.

        Breakfast was also free and typical of what you would get elsewhere.

        The pool area was nice and clean as well although not huge. The front desk staff was friendly but was not present when I went to check out which was weird. The special rate of $99 was a fair price for this hotel.

        Internet was free as well as the parking.

        The rooms are great with the plasma tv's, and IPOD docking stations. The breakfast was a very nice touch, and even at night with the free beer & popcorn. My family and I took advantage of the pool several times during our stay, it was wonderful! I have NEVER stayed at a hotel where EVERY employee says hello to you and SMILES!

        Finding a nice hotel with views, atmosphere and service can be even harder. If you upgrade and get the water view, you will appreciate it. The other side of the hotel faces a parking lot and a couple of car dealerships. The water view is very nice and the sunrise in the morning is beautiful. The lobby is spacious and nicely decorated. The staff was very pleasant during our entire stay. The room was nicely appointed with two queen beds, a desk and wide screen television.

        We reserved a city view room when we made our reservation. When we checked in I asked for a king size bed and they accommodated our request even though it meant upgrading us to a "water view" room. The water is a river, but hey, it's water. Everyone raved about how goods the beds were but I wasn't that impressed. Our bed at home is like falling into a marshmallow so that is hard to beat. The room was a regular size room with standard amenities. The ipod docking station was nice although the sound quality wasn't that great. We noticed some ants on our last night there but nothing to make us have to switch rooms.
