Thon Hotel Bristol Bergen - 卑爾根

On a positive note the Hotel has a great location, close to "tourist-y" stuff.

Good staff, good location, (great for walking around the city), restaurants nearby.

The public areas are very stylish and the hotel is in a great central location.

Fortunately the local tourist brochure noted a pharmacy near the bus station that was open.

Great shopping, places of historical interest, and public transport are close by.

An inquisitive person might ask 'how did they fit the bed inside?

However, it would just be nice to sleep in the same bed as your wife and shower without a bruising.

The public areas are very stylish and the rooms are nicely decorated (reception told it they had plans of rennovating the rooms to an even better standard in January!

Our room was a bit stuffy in the evenings with no air conditioning.

The noise from the street below was intolerable from my room on the 3rd floor (even with windows closed).

Breakfast choice was only 2* or 3* quality and served in the Egon restaurant (a Norway chain) next door - a little cramped.

Within walking distance to all major attractions, shops, restaurants and the central station---the location cannot be beat.

The buffet breakfast (hot and cold foods) provided at the hotel was exceptional.

The lobby is renovated to a modern scandinavian design and staff impressed us: front desk staff helpful.

Staff impressed us: front desk staff helpful, and the room kettle wouldn't work, so we had to call down for a replacement; within 2 minutes a cheerful young lady called in to show us which switches we needed to have 'on'.

The front desk staff was not helpful when I asked for help finding a pharmacy open on Sunday.

Down a side street (cul de sac) above McDonalds, small lobby.

But soon you see the plus points: free use of PC in the loby; free fresh-ground coffee in the lobby; right on the city centre square surrounded by shopping area; 6 minutes walk from Harbour.

Almost all hotel chains in Norway has free wireless internet connection but Thon hotels do not.

Rooms were clean, the complimentary breakfast was fine.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, the room/closet was clean, he breakfast was excellent.

The bathrooms were spotless and quite spacious.

It was clean, the bathroom was big, and the curtains were heavy enough to cover the early sunrise (sun set at 11pm and rose at 4am!
