Thistle Manchester - 曼彻斯特

I liked the location, close to the train station and the hotel is well located in the centre of Manchester.

Convenient central location in Manchester, would do so again - very centrally located within walking distance of Piccadilly Rail station and we are able to have a late check out free of charge.

In an excellent location to the city, the temperature in Manchester was close to 30 degrees and staff were very helpful wasnt happy.

The location is central which is a good thing and it is directly in front of the main taxi rank so great for getting cabs back to station etc.

We got the train from manchester airport which took about 20 mins and the hotel was 5 mins walk from the main station in manchester city centre.

The air vent in the ceiling was hanging down on one side, there were two black marks on the ceiling above the bed caused by the wall lights and the bathroom was a disgrace with a broken and rotting bath panel.

We agreed that if he moved the bedside table furthest from the door and moved the bed over then I’d have room to get round the bed, open the door to the bathroom etc, so he did that.

The door opened into the room and the bed was in front of you, then to the right the door to the accessible bathroom opened outwards into the main room.

The staff quickly offered for me to change rooms and while this room was slightly nicer, the bath refused to drain water and I was standing in half a bath of water whilst showering.

The bed had a lovely white fresh looking duvet on it which made the room look very welcoming.

The furnitures were great and food in restaurant was superb as was the breakfast.

The room a little on the small side, bar prices are reasonable and breakfast really set us up for the day.

It's an old hotel (The Portland) and could easily have been neglected inside but the lobby and reception was OK, lifts worked and were clean and newish and the bar and restaurant area were equally clean and well looked after.

Excellent location, friendly unlike the staff on hotel reception and helpful service.

The staff at the front desk were helpful and so was concierge when I phoned to ask for a blanket.

Welcome to the sauna that smells of stale feta cheese, as for the tiny swimming pool I saved myself the money of buying some trunks when I saw a strange lurid build up of honey coloured muck along the tiles.

As for other facilities the swimming pool was small but warm and staffed by a really friendly guy, at the time of our stay the spa pool wasnt working :( but he tried several times to get it going!

You come out of the lift practically on the pool with the reception desk at the side of the puddle-sorry pool.

The £15 charge for 2 hours of wi-fi broadband is outrageous.

Connection to their wireless internet system costs - wait for it - £15 (about $25) per two hours!

The reception area of Thistle Manchester is indeed a bit shabby but the dining area, ground floor toilets etc etc were beautifully clean and in good condition.

Room was small, but perfectly suitable and contained everything I needed and the most important thing - it was clean.

Room was clean, hot food was very slow to be re-stocked and the health spa facilities were excellent.

Bathroom was clean and the breakfast was delicious.
