This large, spread out complex sits atop the Higashiyama area, one of the best locations for sightseeing in Kyoto. The hotel is used to foreign guests. Rooms are clean and well maintained, however there have been rumblings amongst the guests that the standard rooms are becoming a big scruffy. The deluxe rooms are a major step up but come at a steep price as well. On the negative side, the breakfast room is dimly lit and there have been complaints of poor service.

Great quality restaurants and the front desk was helpful.
The bed was amazing, breakfast buffet were beautiful and outisde garden was nice.
The location in Eastern Kyoto is near several temples and the room rate seem very reasonable so we booked the hotel.
