  A perfect place for anyone that wants to get away for quiet R&R.

  The staff, the hotel and surrounding areas are breath taking! The service was above standard and could not fault the resort itself. On the down side, the reception staff were very slow and the resort itself is a littel bit pricey.

  Stunning hotel all over - with super rooms, grounds, pool area's, breakfast and dining options. You can take a taxi there to either the town for the night market or to the harbour area where you can book trips and car hire etc and do some more shopping. Well worth booking a car for 1-2 days to tour the Island - with visits to Channai, the cable car and Tanjung Arhu for the sunset being top of the list. The downside is that the beach is not that nice - but from what we saw of other hotels this remains top of our list by far for overall facilities and location etc.

  We stayed in a pool villa for 7 nights with our two kids (3 & 1 yrs old) and had a wonderful time. The location is set in front of the beach, although the beach itsself is not the best, the hotel's facilities (including 3 pools) are a great place to hang out, with views of the sea and surrounding islands. The staff was excellent, very attentive and we genuinely felt very welcome at all times. Try the omelettes or chocolate crepes :) They also have a good value dinner buffet which changes daily. There is a kid's club and a play area and there are many tours to do with kid-friendly activities, i. The villa manager did his best to rectify these problems asap and treated us to a dinner to make us feel great. The spa is not as nicely decorated as others we have been to in Asia, but the therapists know what they are doing - look out for a therapist named Wiji.

  The lovely staff who work at the Langkawi accommodated our every need and were a pleasure to talk with. A honeymoon location like no other!

  We had the villa booked with 42 inch LCDs, a bathroom to die for, private outdoor massage area and private swimming pool complete with a view straight onto the private beach and sea. The service at this hotel is completely unparalleled to anywhere else I've ever stayed, the attention to detail and absolute genuine warmth of the hospitality of the staff there is unbelievable, I would love to in particular thank Mr Fawad the villa manager, and Rendi who were absolutely exceptional. Although every single member of staff was brilliant.

  This gave us two bedrooms, a large sitting / dining room, two bathrooms, a fitness room and a massive balcony with a magnificent view over the sea. Lunch at the beach restaurant (Tide), and we had dinner in the room most nights because the room was soo good, kids in front of the 42" plasma watching a DVD, parents outside on the balcony watching the sun going down, what could be better? Unwinding in the evening in the lounge bar (Breeze) with some snacks, quiet music (live saxaphone player).

  We are a family with three children 7-11, and had splurged on the renewal suite (290 m2 of pure luxury). Hotel staff were excellent, I don't think that we ever had a bad experience with them, always friendly, anticipating, courteous, great with the kids.

  We have just arrived home from one of the most highly relaxing holidays I have yet experienced, the Westin offers solitude with affection from the ever helpful staff. The reception was not only personal, they made sure our room was availble for two guests after a 12hour travel within 30 mins of arrival. We opted for the Sea View Delux room, that was both spacious and clinical in its cleanliness. The pools are excellent and cater well for the kids witha pool dedicated to them. The beach bar with swim up bar is one of the most friendly I have visited "a credit to Mahathir, and his willing assistant cocktail specialist Sarah" Two nights a week the beach bar put on a evening select dining overlooking the beach, sea food being a specilaity of the night. Entertainment starts at 830pm with a very professional trio with a wide portfolio of well known songs. The hotel offers sports facilities, in the form of water sports equipment, tennis and a very good spa. Down the roadto the ferry terminal you will find the Langkawi yacht club, two bars in the form of Charlies place and the Captains bar cater for all tastes, Charlies place in particular have an excellent choice of sea food and traditional Malay fare.

  Champagne flows with fresh fruits, cold cuts and the Malaysian hot dishes, I did not hear one disatisfied remark.

  Especially liked the swim up bar in the infinity pool, where I had a number of yummy cocktails! We met some really lovely and friendly guests and staff. Impressed with our room and courtyard but as previous guests mentioned can't leave patio doors open, too many mozzies. The food at "taste" breakfast buffet was excellent, too much to chose from, everything is too nice. We met Andreas (Head Chef), he was very friendly and was making sure we were having good time. All of the staff we met were very helpful and spoke very good english. Particularly Gobalan Ramiah, we became quite friendly with him.

  We ate dinner 1 night at "Tide" restaurant which was a bit pricey but worth it.

  We had six children ranging from 3yrs to 12yrs and they all had an absolutely fantastic time - particularly in the hotel's Rock pool. And if you did need to get the children out of the midday sun there was a covered shopping centre nearby with kid-friendly activities including sand art and a bouncy castle. The grounds were beautifully tended and clean, the swimming pools were fantastic and the views from the bar and restaurant were wonderful. But perhaps the best thing about the Westin was the staff. Charming, friendly and incredibly helpful, they made our children feel like celebrities - and nearly all had an exhaustive knowledge of soccer to please our Manchester United-mad six-year-old!

• The moment you check in with excellent check in staff to the houskeeping staff where they will take care of you all the way. The room was so comfortable and spacious with all new brand Heavenly Bed and luxury bathroom waiting for you. Also try to stay at their very own villas, feel free to contact their houskeeping staff if you need anything extra and as promise they will come less in 5 minutes. For breakfast at Taste Restaurant the food was so good and their excellent staff will always be there to assist you and if your need extra assistant feel free to contact the wonderful Taste Restaurant Manager- Mr Anuar Abu. All Taste restaurant Chef are very friendly. At Tide and Splash Restaurant please order the wonderful homemade pizza it was superb.
