Westin La Cantera Resort, San Antonio

The hotel property is beautiful and it is in a great location, close to shopping, great restaurants, Fiesta Texas.

Great San Antonio hill country location, beautiful pools and golf courses and it's close to Six Flags Fiesta Texas and the water park (Schliterbaum) with the country's #1 water ride.

The location is right next door to Fiesta Texas and some new shopping centers.

A short drive - 5 to 15 minutes - to everything we wanted to see and do - shops, airport, riverwalk.

The resort is 15 minutes north of the airport and even though it isn't down town, it was a very peaceful place to stay on New Year's weekend (unlike all the partying going on around the down town hotels).

I especially liked how despite the fact that the suite was all one room, the bed and sitting area were separated by a half wall and the television armoire, so there was a feeling of two rooms.

The rooms were small but nice, a typical Westin with marble bathroom, fancy bed and classy decor.

Room size is average; however, the bed is very comfortable, and the bathroom is great.

The setting is beautiful, and the rooms generally seem to be nice -- definitely lives up to the Heavenly Bath/Bed name.

Very nice bathroom and bed, but the overall room is comparable to other nice resorts.

We ate lunch at the Palmer Grill, breakfast at the restaurant right within the resort, and two catered meals in the ballroom.

We ate breakfast a Brannon's - the casual restaurant - a couple of times and found the food "hotel average".

Shuttle service to Fiesta Texas makes it so easy to get there and back, and last year, the hotel ran out of the 25% off Fiesta Texas food coupons, so instead, they gave us vouchers for free dinner at the main restaurant or pool bar.

Ironically one of the highlights of my stay this year would have been the fabulous steak dinner that I had in the hotel restaurant if I didn't think that was the meal (salad bar) that made me sick.

There are three pools, several hot tubs, four restaurants, two shops, two golf course, golf shop, etc.

Also the prices for everything else were outrageously high, the front desk staff was wonderful and attentive, concierge were very friendly and helpful.

The staff is outstanding, from the front desk, concierge, spa, to the restaurant staff at the golf courses.

Public areas were very nice, the service within the hotel was wonderful and front desk staff were especially polite and professional.

The pool areas were nice but overall service with staff including managers was suboptimal.

Cons: on-site restaurants were expensive (but good food); no indoor pool or jacuzzi; long walk from parking lot to our building - couldn't find the shortcut because it was not well-lit.

THere's a great work-out fitness club, great pools, and they provided free shuttle service to Fiesta Texas.

This is quite an impressive resort, from the scenic hilltop location and beautiful grounds to the Spanish hacienda-inspired lobby and spectacular pool with waterfalls and slides for the kids.

Our room was clean, bar were great and the curtains as well as the carpet had cigarette burns.

Housekeeping didn't come to clean room until 6 at night most of the days as well.

Our rooms were exactly what we booked and were spotless.

Since we had just checked in, the room was obviously clean.

The hotel is really beautiful, we waited aprroximately 45 minutes for our room to be clean and the pool are looked nice.
