Vineyard At Stockcross Newbury - Newbury

Looking forward to being treated again, definately at the same location.

This location is a must for a special break and we will continue to return year after year.

The Vineyard is a fantastic "away-from-it-all" location within easy driving distance of London, and left us feeling relaxed and refreshed for days afterwards!

When our cab driver overheard us mentioning this he said it was a regular problem in the hotel that they haven't bothered to fix.

It had a bed you just wanted to jump up and down on, a bathroom decked out all in marble and a mini swimming pool for a bath tub.

The room we had, the grand suite with a four poster bed, huge living room and the bathroom with its rejuvenating shower gets a 100 out of 10 points.

We stayed in an Atrium suite which was beautifully decorated with a hugely comfortable bed and a bath big enough for two as well as a separate shower and great Molten Brown smellies.

The bedroom had a "lounge" type area, a dressing room/walk in closet and a very comfortable bed.

The bed was comfortable and the room tastefully decorated and clean.

As an added element of fun, you can eat the restaurant menu in the restaurant, bar snacks in the 'conservatory', but neither in the bar.

Room service food was great, the meals at the restaurant were excellent.

The tasting menu was some of the best food I have ever had (and have eaten in several Michelin starred restaurants), we also asked the Sommelier to choose wines by the glass to match the food, this was also nice, and not extortionately priced.

Our package included a evening meal in the restaurant which was simply one of the best meals I have ever had.

The food was very ordinary for a michelin starred restaurant and the service very poor, with guests having to go and get the bottles of wine to refill their glasses during the meal.

Initially, we were impressed by your reception staff, when the receptionist walked us to our room and explained the features.

The hotel is true 5 star quality and the staff are very polite and ready to deliver a great service.

We were met at the door by the concierge who whisked us through reception, taking our bags and escorting us directly to our room.

The service was impeccable - the staff really seem to take a pride in providing excellent service to guests without seeming fawning or intrusive.

The Vineyard spa was extensive - with a large swimming pool, invigorating jacuzzi, modern gym, and treatment rooms.

Although the spa could do with a bit of tlc in a couple of places (a few tiles missing around the pool, a bit of peeling paint by the jacuzzi), it's not at all bad and worth a visit, particularly when no-one else is using it.

The room was as expected, big, spacious and clean.

Excellent staff, clean and large room, food is fantastic.

From the spacious, comfortable rooms through to the clean spa and outstanding restaurant - we were made to feel at home.

We were upgraded to an Atrium Suite which was gorgeous - clean and modern.
