Us Grant, San Diego - 圣迭戈

The location is perfectly situated in downtown San Diego.

Perfect location if you are looking for a centrally located hotel in San Diego.

The location is great and the service was close to impeccable.

However, we were told the Grill opened at 6 am which their literature also states but when we left for the airport for a very early morning flight, the Grill was not open and we were told it opend at 6:30 am.

Trolley and bus stops are steps away from hotel doors.

One day we returned late at night after having been out all day only to find that housekeeping never freshened up our room (not even for turn down service), which means the place looked just as we left it -- bed unmade; wet towels in bathroom, etc.

The room had very tall ceilings, a large luxurious marble bathroom, original artwork, and an amazingly comfortable bed.

We had reserved a top floor room with king size bed which upon arrival were told they were sold out and only had double beds available.

The room was nice, if a little small, it was only just possible to open the bathroom door, as the bed was in the way.

The bed was exquisitely comfortable, the dressing area had dark hard wood floor that led to the travertine tiled bathroom with vessel sink and frameless shower door (no tub).

It was so slow that on our second morning we decided to leave the hotel for breakfast and walked to a restaurant in the Gaslamp Quarter and had a fine breakfast for a third of the cost.

Food: we didn't eat at the hotel since there are just so many restaurants in the area, the proximity to so many is a bonus.

The service is fantastic, the rooms are beautiful and restaurant/lounge are nice and decent.

Did not eat at the hotel restaurants, nor visit the pool or workout room – no opinions there, but will definitely return.

We found a great local diner - The Cheese Shop - that served the best, huge breakfast.

Also the lobby is beautiful, the service from all the staff rates as one of the best we have ever experienced and the concierge is wonderful.

The valet and doormen were wonderful, the reception personnel professional but I"m not sure about the concierge who gave us a very mediocre Mexican restaurant recommendation.

We had an issue with housekeeping and said, "hey, while they fix that, you don't suppose you'd treat us to a martini in the lobby, would you?

Lovely lobby, restaurant, common areas, great elevators.

The accommodations are rich and the elevators are amazingly fast.

The US Grant has very clean and formal rooms.

Our room was nicely furnished, clean and luxurious.

The views were even better than we had heard, the room decor was fresh and the staff was excellent.

The room decor was fresh and done in an "old meets new" motif with traditional style moldings and carpets juxtaposed against modern halogen lighting and flat panel TVs, etc.
