Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi - 新德里

Superb location, nice hotel and classically appointed in an old world style.

We chose the hotel for its great location and name.

The location is great, the hotel is really well air-conditioned and the lobby is lovely.

We did not bother to pre-book a car to the airport (very expensive) instead, the doorman got us a cab (immediate) which is a fraction of the price (around 300-350 rupees).

Very comfortable, wood floors, tasteful marble bathrooms, orchid filled bathtubs and of course, wonderful bed.

My room was richly appointed, the bed incredibly comfortable, marble bath, bedside control of all lighting and temperature.

The bed was reasonably comfortable (by Indian plank standards) and although we were on a smoking floor, there was not a hint of stale smoke in the room.

Overall, the room was spacious, the fixtures perhaps a little shabby and worn round the edges, but the bathroom was huge and done very nicely in a dark red/black marble, with a separate bath and shower and two fabulous shower heads.

The room is small for a luxury hotel (+/- 30 sqm) and the bathroom is tiny with one of the dreaded bathtubs with a shower curtain.

The breakfast is excellent and the fare wide ranging - and for dinner/lunch there is 24 hour dining and also a range of other restaurants to choose from.

We never actually ate at the restaurants within the hotel but would recommemd a restaurant called Pindi which is located in Pashwan Market.

Good variety of restaurants, a lobby bar and a piano bar (I think).

All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the restaurant and bar were excellent.

Only once did we try the main breakfast buffet in the restaurant which we found utterly disappointing.

Everything from the room to the view was amazing, throughout our stay we felt extremely well taken care of and service from staff was excellent throughout.

The service levels at this hotel were even better, all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the room was nice.

The lobby looked like a palace, especially at night when the lit a lot of candles near a small pool.

Pool side rooms have grat views of the garden and pool, with ornate parliament buildings in the distance.

Meals were also superb and our pool was nice.

There is also a PC with internet access in a seperate small private office.

Rooms were clean, tidy and stylish, pool was OK.

The rooms are large, very comfortable and kept beautifully clean.

The rooms was great, very modern, well kept, clean,.

The room was clean, well-laid out and amply provided with the usual hotel bits and pieces.

Around the room are a complimentary bottle of wine and several different kinds of fresh fruit.
