Star Inn Cape May - 开普梅

Huge flat screen tv w/ DVD and VCR players, hardwood floors, velour couch, full kitchen with all the amenities, 2 breathtaking bedrooms (one with a private balcony); tremendous living room area w/ private balcony, 2 bathrooms (I miss a tub bath).

Room was very clean, bed really, really comfortable, private outdoor rear sitting area off the bedroom with wicker furniture and cushions.

First, I called the property (it is part of Congress Hall) directly and specifically asked the person what type of bedding the carriage suites had in each bedroom and was told they had Queen size beds.

The bed was full sized (not a queen or king) and there was one antique dresser (which was falling apart) as well as a full walk-in closet and huge bathroom.

Clean, pleasant rooms with nice decor, amazingly comfortable king sized beds, and lots of yummy Aveda products in the bath.

Congress Hall's restaurant, The Blue Pig, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the food is great.

Unfortunately, the inn's coffee shop wasn't open for the season yet (which no one told us), but the breakfast vouchers were good for $14/day toward two breakfasts at the Blue Pig, which serves delicious food.

There were 3 stools at the breakfast bar with a mini fridge, two burners, microwave and all the dishes, etc you need.

There is a bar right by the pool where you can order food and drinks (yes you can order your daiquiris now).

Check in at the coffee shop was a breeze; we were given our room key and breakfast vouchers right away.

The pool area was great, the furniture was very nice in a chic design and the maid service was fantastic.

The room was cleaned fine by maid service while we were there, so it must've been a glitch that it wasn't that clean when we checked in.

The maid service was fantastic and the toiletries and towels and robes were 5 star.

Be sure to make reservations at the Blue Pig for Christmas Eve because it's one of the only places open that night - and the menu/service is excellent, too.

Great coffee shop in the lobby and a very inviting front porch.

Be advised that the Star/Congress Hall allows children (the Sandpiper did not), so if it's peace and quiet you're seeking, you may not find it here (especially at the pool.

Alcohol is not allowed on the beaches of Cape May, so if you want your daiquiris you have to go by the Congress Hall pool.

The Congress Hall staff were pleasant and our room was always clean.

The staff was very friendly and accomodating, the room was very clean.

Room was very clean, restaurant were absolutely wonderful and the pool was kind of small.

The rooms were very clean and the complimentary shampoos, etc.

On the plus side, the Star is conveniently located, the room was very clean and the staff is friendly and efficient.
