Rachamankha Hotel Chiang Mai - 清邁

The location is very good close to Wat Phra Singh and the hotel is absolutely beautiful.

Fantastic location in the old town and good value.

Quiet location, exceptional value and beautiful interiors.

The lovely pool area, a few of the local taxi drivers found amusing we tried and at night the atmosphere was so tranquil and romantic.

Apart from the transport arriving late to meet us at the Railway Station every other detail of our three night stay was perfect.

We also were told after the first night that we had to move to different rooms because of the other bookings (twin beds versus queen bed), but when we were moved, the room my friend was moved into was identical to the one she had been in.

One note is that our room only had a shower so if you also need a bath, it might be worth asking if any of the rooms have baths (I'm not sure).

If you can, book Room 26 which isn't a room at all but a two bedroom, two bath, living room, outdoor terrace 2nd floor private apartment.

The downside was that the bedrooms (we had a 2 bed Suite) were very dark with little natural light, and the pillows so hard, that we actually slept without them.

The bathrooms did not have bathtubs but only standing showers and water pressure was a bit weak, especially when using hot water but there were some lovely touches like the amenities which were presented on a silver platter in the bathroom.

The breakfast was terrific with lots of choice: omelettes, fresh fruit, pancakes, and we also ate one evening at the restaurant where the food was authentic, fresh, and delicious.

However, should you wish to dine in the restaurant (which is one of the most expensive restaurants in Chiang Mai) you may be sadly disappointed.

Moreover the Lanna-style lunch we had in the restaurant was utterly delicious - one of the best meals we had in CM, excellent service made my money’s worth and manager were fantastic.

The restaurant was open for lunch and dinner and featured a selection of Thai and Western dishes, however, please note that they do not provide room service after 10pm so you would need to venture out if you are hungry!

A 22h30, il n’y avait pas un chat au bar-restaurant, et dans tout l’hôtel on aurait entendu une mouche voler, aussi si vous cherchez un endroit au calme où vous reposer, cet hôtel est fait pour vous.

A pavillion in the grounds where the front desk staff sit: there are 2 on duty at all times (for a hotel with 20 rooms!

In Thailand, if you are paying US$100+ for a hotel, you will find impeccable service, English speaking staff, and a better overall experience than you find at this hotel.

The place is very lovely, the staff are friendly reserved and the showers could be better.

The spa treatments (in room & by pool) were heaven!

Die Spa-Behandlungen (im Zimmer & am Pool) waren himmlisch!

The Thais eat their food hot, the pool is simple.

The library provided free internet access on two terminals but you could also get a wireless connection if you had your own laptop.

Very nice decoration, great service and the bathroom is clean.
