Other than some issues with the internet service, this was an outstanding hotel right in the heart of DC for a very reasonable price.
This hotel is an excellent and safe choice at a good price!
Don't expect a sprawling lobby like one of those overpriced "luxury" hotels that are just down the street.
It's clearly worth $229 compared to other downtown Washington hotels during the week, and a huge value at $99 on weekends.

front desk staff were cool and the bed was amazing in the studio room.
We got a large studio on the front of the hotel with a full kitchen (stove, sink, microwave, full refrigerator) with a queen bed, a couch and a 27 inch tv.
They shut off the air conditioning in the fall-winter so even if you have the thermostat turned off the room tends to stay warm (70-72 degrees) with the windows closed (probably heat generated by the refrigerator in the very tightly closed bedroom).
A room on the back with a king bed provided a microwave and under-counter refrigrator, and two couches in an "L" shape.

There are two or three places for breakfast or lunch on the same block; several fast food outlets such as McDonalds and Subway are two blocks away in the 1900 block of M Street.
